LOL....well that's my boy, him and his brother Pooh. There are many reasons to why he signed with them for 1.7, and to why Jay-Z, Dame, and even G-Unit were tryin to get him at the same time. The primary reason is because he's a helluva hustler, and he knows how to network and to get his music heard. He had 4-5 songs in rotation on L.A. radio before bein signed, and that is unheard for somebody who's not signed and to be in L.A. or any major city. He had a party to celebrate his signing, and the place was almost sold out to capacity even though it costed $20 to get in. It's rare for rappers in L.A. to get their name out without bein signed to a major, and that's what he did before bein signed to Sony.
He also has a style that appeals to people outside the west, but still has that west coast influence to it. He has swag in all of his songs and outside of the music, and has personality to rock interviews and all else. His performance skills are top notch, and he sounds better performin than he does on some songs, which is rare for a rapper. Along with that, he's a crip, but definitely has no background dirt on him like many "hood" rappers, and he's certified n official in the hood. At the same time, he is down with crips and bloods all through L.A., and has major support from bloods, especially since his brother is one. He can rock to almost any style beat, and he sounds good on slower beats and rides them similar to how Jeezy and T.I. do, and that is important at this time when the west coast needs rappers who can rock to different styled beats. Also, he isn't just on some "I sell crack, and I'll shoot you 35 times" on every single line on every single song.
