the O.C.

I live in Orange County and I've been listening to hip-hop all of my life and I was sittin and thinkin about it. Who the hell has made it/ who is considered big that has repped Orange County? And if anyone mentions Kotton Mouth Kings, they don't count...Does anyone know of any groups generating a buzz from this area? Someone please help me out here.

Well....for many reasons that can probably be summarized easily.

As far as underground rap, I don't know why there haven't been too many OC rappers. But in general, the OC is just not a breeding ground for rappers, especially for black rappers, and even more so for rappers who attempt to have any kind of street cred. LA county might be next to OC, but as far as the black culture goes, they are nothin at all similar. It's hard for LA rappers who aren't gangsta to make it big, even when they do grow up in the hoods. But for the OC, it's not much of a chance for them to get exposed or for anybody to have interest in them as rappers. We all know how people love street cred, and there isn't any kind of presense in OC that would breed these sort of rappers. But as I said, for underground rappers, I donno y it hasn't been many.

not true santa ana watergate crips are deep and been active since the early 70s, you from gundena? yeah i know big jay capone (BABY BEAR) anyways as a whole o.c is not what t.v portrays,but thats another subject...I.K.(industry killaz) are makin some serious noise and Im workin with spoony-loc hes from the anas check out this myspace and tell me he aint reppin o.c.
