Latin Rap, True West Coast Music

What do you people think of latin rap?

for people who don't know much about it, i recommend Lil Rob (upstairsrecordsinc.com) or Hi Power artists (hipowermusic.com)(hi power is more like west coast southside gangster rap, mr. capone-e even has a song with nate dogg) you've probably already heard of: cypress hill, mellow man ace, delinquent habits, baby bash, pitbull, beatnuts,(last 2 not west coast)

here's my 2 cents:
in mainstream people talk alot about lowriding, cars customized to look good, use latin-style beats, even throw spanish in their songs(that's our lifestyle, long before it became a cool mainstream thing). yet for some reason people are afraid of latin rap (more specifically mexican or chicano rap).

i'm talkin about the west coast rappers who've been doin their thing since the 80's but don't get much mainstream love, and some radio stations don't wanna play it cause they say it's gang related (other rap is too, wtf?).I like chicano rap cause i can relate to it more, and it has that true street feel that west coast is famous for.

i admit though, i do listen to some black rappers, like bone thugs, pac, or snoop. to me, if snoop dropped the izzle and "n" word, he'd be just like a chicano rapper, smooth style and lowriding enthusiasm, often with a gangster touch, he was even the first black person on the cover of lowrider magazine.
so.... what do u people think?

I'm down for it but i'm chicano so ofcousre i will be and i've loved in Arizona and Cali SO i've seen differnt styles in az they played more chicano rap then in the west coast they get ol' skool play more like nwa and such but i think a good mix of both wood be tight.

im mexican, and i never head these names expt baby bash and pit bull, i do like pit bull but i hate baby bash. pit bull has some westcoast in his songs. rap is not black it not white its not latino. ppl in cuba,puro rico dont call them self black they call them self latino. Rock and roll was onece only for black ppl white ppl called it devil music. and now you only see white ppl in rock. and most big latino rapper are not mexicans. and if it is about racies then lil jon would have better flow then pit bull. I love rap no i love westcoast rap i dont look at the person i look, i hear the music.

where did that come from? yeah sure there are a few latinos who don't like blacks, and a few blacks who don't like latinos, but that's rare, not the majority. i'd answer the oldies question but i don't know most of the names, i just bump the music, i don't care if it's mexican or black. malo, tierra, thee midnighters, ralphie pagan, there's alot of others i can't think of right now(those that i put up were americans, but most of the old stuff i here in the newer music is old music in spanish).
why u gotta separate into nationalities? this topic is for showin love to ALL latinos in music, or just givin a general opinion. not for sayin "f mexicans! i like cubans and ricans but LOVE black people!!!" i don't care about your racist opinions, i was just curious about how people view latin rap (rap, reggaeton, whatever)
rap isn't a black thing, blacks & browns developed it together, the white media just made it into a black thing, and u fell for it (don't get me wrong, i'm glad 2 see blacks makin money, but u don't gotta use it as a reason 2 hate mexicans).
i don't like knightowl either, or mellow man ace, or baby bash. all i know about baby bash is that people say he used 2 be tight till he changed 2 fit in with the popular styles and he doesn't have our style no more & i heard mellow man ace calls himself the godfather of latin rap even though he isn't even the first.
i didn't say that blacks were stealin a culture, i was pointin out similarities, and mexican/latino influence in black culture, just like latino culture was influenced by blacks.
you say lil rob & knightowl can't rap but pitbull and yankee can, but yankee does reggaeton, not rap. and pitbull is reggaeton/rap, but his style in rap sound more reggaeton 2 me, so i think u just don't like latin rap, u prefer regaeton (nada wrong with that). u seem kinda mixed up to me ese, my quote might do u some good.

not many artists want to be labeled as "latin rappers" because then eminem and bubba sparxxx would be "white rap" latin artists are still trying to make a name for themselves and trying to gain mainstream success. i don't see fat joe and the ts being labeled as "latin rap". i'm mexican but i personally don't feel that lil rob,lil cuete,lil puto west coast shit. there's more guys down south who are latin and are better lyricists......except for cypress hill i don't listen to any west coast "latin rappers"

i guess i gotta clear up the whole latin rapper thing. i don't call them latin rappers either, the only reason i used the word latin is cause i wanted people to understand that i was talkin about mexicans, chicanos, puerto ricans, cubans, and other rappers that most people would call "hispanic" or "latin". also, "they are wack" isn't the best answer, latin rappers have so many differences they can't easily be placed into the same category, i'm sure you at least have a reason for thinkin they're wack.
