You use WinZip for zipped shit. Zipped files are just files that are compressed so they take up less space. WinZip works on pretty much everything except .rar files. You use a program called WinRAR for those.

You'll need both programs if you use IRC. But get Winzip anyway, zipped files are everywhere.
