I think you base your "new york vibe" on the fake bloods and crips here.

If I'm wrong lemme know.

I loved pac, but was a fan of biggie....Pac just made such an impact with the West that it we rode hard for em and reped hard. Biggie was sick though, but I didn't like the Vibes coming from NYC. Now I love the East, why? because of Jay-Z and Nas's beef and their impact

LOL....I'll let you know some things about that.

For one....the media can dictate and brainwash the hell out of people. I was in 4th grade in 94, 5th in 95, 6th in 96...and at those ages, you basically like anything that you hear on radio. I never had a single thing against New York at that level, and during that feud, I am sure that the older cats in L.A. didn't care much for New York, but people my age didn't care about the beef at all. We were in shock that Pac dissed Biggie, but many of us still liked Biggie just as much as Pac or any other rapper at the time. However, the media and everyone else will only say what is negative and promotes tension, and I'm sure NY cats thought L.A. hated them and all else...but that wasn't the case...we had too much to deal with in L.A. to hate somebody else. We were fresh off the damn riots, so we could care less about what's going on 3,000 miles away.

I always felt NY would hate L.A. people, and before I arrived to my college, Florida A&M, I "knew" that I was gonna have beef with NY people just because I thought they hated us. But when I got there, they felt the same as me, and L.A. and NY people get along better than most of us get along with people from the south, especially since we are both from out of state. I do have arguments with them about different rappers, and many of them think the west sucks and has no talent, but I usually set em straight real quick...and many of them seem to like L.A. rappers that I didn't even think they knew about.

So nah....we definitely didn't hate NY at that level...but I am very sure that rappers and those who knew about the politics and East Coast bias that most critics had there didn't like NY, and most of that was for valid reasons. But for the average cat, nah, it was no reason to hate somebody we weren't in contact with....when the set that's five minutes away is trying to kill us.

That's what's up @ R Tistic, Spawn and Sinn. I was wonderin because I dont know any NY niggaz in the streets that really went around on some "fuck them westcoast" niggaz shit. Out here niggaz was sad over Pac's death too, hot 97 dedicated the next day to playing nothin but 2pac songs and had Sept 13 as "Tupac Day" for a few years. I dont listen to the radio anymore so i dunno if they still do it. I met a few niggaz from Cali and there was only one I didnt get along wit, he was a clown. No disrespect because NYC gotta buncha fuckin clowns too.

Yo on the real, New York has always had major airplay, they make most of the movies, y'all seem to have TV/Radio on lock, when it comes to what we hear/see, but I y'all don't give us the same respect......

Wu-Tang get more air-play/love in Cali than Ice Cube gets in New York.... what's the deal???

When Cali niggas go out to New York, y'all stick ya nose up and act like ya shit don't stink...

Maybe not all of U, but most.... enough to where we don't feel welcome.....

When Y'all niggas come out here, regardless of what we think, you still get treated like everyone else....

and that's the reason why Cali Niggas don't like New York.....

I grew up in Brooklyn and I currently work in midtown Manhattan, so I know a little about the NYC "vibe"... it's a swagger or arrogance that comes with living in the most cosmopolitan city in the world. That's the only way I can explain it... and Brooklyn cats know they're in the best borough.

I was in college down south (the original USC) around the time of the Pac-Biggie feud and I admit, I was ridin' with the East, but it was moreso because of residence... there was no real hate... and the whole East/West thing was all media-generated....

There has always been somewhat of a rivalry, though... even before Pac and Biggie became household names... remember Tim Dog's "Fuck Compton?" I admit, near the end of '93, I was fed up with G-Funk and played-out gangsterisms... the movie "Menace II Society" hit a peak for that era and everything after became cliche... but it wasn't hate, it was just that the East was beginning to rise again and I was ridin' with the artists that were coming out at that time... Nas, Biggie, Wu Tang, Black Moon, Jeru da Damaja, Keith Murray, etc.... it was an East Coast renaissance, so to speak... but I still bought the Dogg Pound in '95, because Kurupt (an East Coast native) was nasty at that time...

Actually, some people may not know this, but the Prodigy-Jay Z feud stemmed from the East/West feud... P called out Jigga for being silent during the whole rivalry as if he wasn't loyal enough to his coast, but what P failed to realize is that Jay wasn't a big name at all in '95 or '96... Jay didn't really ascend to prominence until around '98... what sparked P's comments was Jay's line in "Money, Cash, Hoes"... "it's like New York's been soft ever since Snoop came through and crushed the buildings." Of course, that line referenced Snoop's video where some NYC cats licked shots at the set... I forget the name of the song... can somebody clue me in?

Anyway, that period was just a way to sell magazines. I never hated Cali. My first choice for college back when I was a shorty was UCLA. I wanted to go where the palm trees and fine women were. I still wanna go. I'll show love if it's shown back to me. That's just real.

That was in Red Hook where them niggaz shot at them

It's one thing to have a friendly rivalry but to really come here thinkin we lettin u get away wit doin a disrespectful video about us is somethin else

And in case u or anyone else didnt know this, Jay was not silent in the East/West "rivalry"

The first line of 22 2's "too much west coast dick lickin" was a clear reference to Pac not to mention Hov did a song called "Dead or Alive" which shitted on EVERY diss Pac made towards him.
