i actually think durant derserved it over bron this year.

don't get me wrong....Lebron is the best player in the NBA right now
but Durant had an incredible year

he actually made the thunder a team that could compete with the champs from last year.

    Anyways, cant be too upset.

Basically I think they underplay the fact that one guy plays in the east, the other in the west.

No shit Lebron is gonna have better stats, the east is weak.

Wins, stats, in the west carry more weight than in the east.

It's a pay your dues league.

Durant will get it next year if he can keep it consistent.

Take Lebron off the Cavs and they still make the playoffs in the weak ass East. Take Durant off the Thunder and they're battling with the Nets for the worst record in the league

    Durant got robbed

    i disagree....

take Lebron from the Cavs and u've got no one to build around. therefore there woulda been no Mo Williams, no Jamario Moon, no Ant Parker, no Shaq, and no Antawn Jamison, all brought in as complimentary players to help James get that ring. havin none of those players = no playoffs, even in the "weak ass East"....

and Lebron made every one of those players BETTER, with the exception of Shaq who just clogs the paint. THATS where i think my man Durant came up short. hes a great scorer, no question, but as a complete player hes got some work to do....

dont get me twisted: Durantula is a beast, and i was rootin 4 him TOUGH to take the Lakers to game 7. i predict he'll have multiple MVP Awards on his resume, its just not that time yet. and rightfully so if u ask me.....

Dude, I'm saying if you had the same Cavs roster in 2010 but without Lebron (say, he had a season-ending injury perhaps), the Cavs have enough talent to at least make the playoffs in the weak East, albeit likely the 7 or 8th seed. Nonetheless, they would still be a competent team.

Durant down for the Thunder? They would be pathetic.

The take Player A from the team argument doesn't work. You take away any of the Top 5 MVP candidates and the teams aren't any good.

Lakers and Cavs would still be in contention because there's a good amount of talent around both of them, certainly a lot more than is surrounding Durant in OKC or D-Wade in Miami...

Contention to do what....squeak in as a 8th seed? They're not in championship contention without Kobe or LeBron and that's more valuable than Durant/Wade making a non-playoff team simply a first round exit playoff team.

That argument is stoopid and doesn't work in the NBA.

The fact that Durant plays in the West nullifies the 8th seed argument; in the East the Thunder would've been 4th seed (if not higher, playing more East competition than West). Obviously LeBron surpassed Durant (and everyone else) statistically, I just feel like Durant was more valuable to the Thunder than LeBron to the Cavs. Could argue either way but ultimately best stats on the best team is a no-brainer.
