I'm so fucking stoked for this tbh. Breaking Bad is the best show on TV right now. After season 4 ended my immediate reaction was how are they going to continue the show after what happened with Gus, but after thinking about it there's a lot of freedom for them to do crazy shit this season. I'm excited to say the least.

My favourite show of all time.

    #2. The Wire
    #3. The Sopranos
    #4. Dexter

That being said, I am worried all the hard work into making this show amazing will be reduced to basically, a self-destruct button where Walter finds himself in a similar situation to Scarface in the final scene.

Prior to this season, he did things for his son & wife.

Now, it looks like he is strictly chasing the money. And I can't imagine his family backing that. Also, killing people in self-defence/preservation was acceptable. But as a potential "supplier of needs" Walter will NOT be able to just "supply." He'll have to protect by any means.

I don't know how Walter's character could successfully follow in the footsteps of Gustavo, or the Cartel, or even the petty local drug bosses, who would all kill at the drop of a hat.

I hope this season is more than a farewell in a "blaze of glory." And more importantly, I hope the decisions made by various characters makes sense.

The last thing Walter said was, "I won."

Now, he is going to play again? As the boss?

    *crossing fingers*

Apparently they recently signed on for season 6 as the final season, so of there's a blaze of glory it will be next season.

    IF TRUE:

As much as this is good news, it is DEFINITELY bad news.

Until I see Season 5 wasn't a serious drop off in quality.

*But I've seen nothing about a 6th season and they've billed S5 as the final one for some time.

I read Season 5 is 16 episodes in 2 parts. The first eight starting in July, then after gauging the reception they'll shoot the final eight to air next summer.

That sounds fucking retarded, every time I've seen them do that to a show (put a hiatus in the middle of the season) it always hurt the show. If season 5 is the last season, like I've heard before, they need to just play it straight through.

    Yeah,

I forgot. I heard about that too. I hate that. lol

They basically are doing two short seasons = One "bigger" season by a few episodes.

Hopefully the first half is a solid 8 Episodes and not all one lead up to the second half. SOOOOOO often that's what happens. They coulda finished the season with 12-13 episodes. BUT, trying to cash in one last time on the ratings etc. they stretch it out and hurt the show.

The writers for Breaking Bad >>> 99% of TV writers so, I am not worried about them pulling some weak ass The Walking Dead stalling but we gon' see.
