9-3 this month. They're still 12 games back of the Mets but the Mets have been playing the Pirates, Cubs, Marlins of the league lately and the Braves have won series against the Cards, Reds, Padres. The Mets are ripe for a nice slump coming down the stretch this season. And even if they don't catch the Mets, 6 games back in the wildcard.

On another note the Texas Rangers who I said before the season started were going to make the playoffs are only a game back in the AL West.

Yankees half game back of the Red Sox and only 2 games in back of the White Sox who they just swept.

I just felt like making a baseball thread.

Francoeur's on pace for 30+ HRs and 100+ RBI. From the 6th spot in the lineup. Who cares how many pitches he takes

the braves bullpen would be better if the Golden Girls were pitching...

if they had not blown half of the saves they have blown then they would be right there chasing the Mets. I think the bullpen as a whole has blown like 22 games..

Hell even the Braves have been known as a 2nd half team by media people. The Mets pitching is old, I'm interested to see how Pedro, El Duque, Trachsel and to a lesser extent Glavine do the rest of the way.

this team isnt the same old braves..if your so confident your team can come back and the mets pitching cant hold make a bet with me..

also stop worrying about our age. we have 3 young pitchers who will fixture into our rotation.. Pelfrey, Maine and Bannister. also speaking of history pedro always struggles during this period and comes back and is lights out. duque is our fifth starter and traschel has pitched good enough lately..

It has very little to do with the opposing pitchers right now, the Braves offense is just hot. They racked Jason Marquis for 12 earned runs tonight. btw I know LaRussa was trying to save his bullpen but letting a guy give up 12 earned runs is fucked up.

I'd be a fool making that bet. The odds just aren't there. In all honesty I doubt the Braves win the division but I wouldn't be shocked if they did at this point. They'll finish the year better than the Mets, only question is from this point on will it be 12 games better than the Mets? I have my eye on the wildcard at this point.
