well, to be fair, that post was made just minutes after i heard he signed with chicago, and i was basically just thinking he can fuck off.
what i meant was, he was without a doubt an important part of the team, who made made big contributions, but of the starting five he was without a doubt the player who, were they to leave, it would make the least impact on the team for next year. he's cant score, he's the oldest starter, and he's one of the worst free throw shooters in NBA history. that being said he's still a beast, pound for pound one of the strongest guys in the league and he can rebound and block a shot like none other.
in comparison with the other starters tho he's the easiest to lose. cant lose chauncey, he runs the team, rip is the high scorer, tayshaun is young, and he's only getting better every year, and sheed, he's the same age ben, but he can rebound like ben and can go for 25 any given night.
sheed will probably just take ben's place at the center and mcdyess will play the four next season, which, barring injuries, could work out better for the pistons, as they'd have five scoring options instead of four.
so... i retract the statement that ben wallace is worthless, it was made out of anger. but i do still think that ben wallace is the most replaceable pistons starter. oh, and apparently he got $60 million....which is a little bit more understandable.
