Ben Wallace currently has two deals on his plate, according to the Detroit Free Press, with both the Pistons and the Chicago Bulls putting in their bids for the defensive player of the year's services for the next four years.

The Pistons have offered a four-year deal worth approximately $48 million to Wallace in Detroit. And the Chicago Bulls , who sent coach Scott Skiles and vice president of basketball John Paxson to Detroit, have started bidding at closer to $52 million for four seasons.

Wallace is an unrestricted free agent and can verbally agree to a deal at any time, but he can't sign a contract until July 12 at the earliest.

if he wants to win another championship, he will not hesitate to sign with chicago

word..Wallaces job was to play tough D, grab boards, block shots...Sort of like Rodman, the Bulls didn't need Rodman to score. They needed him to do the dirty work, and when you can do it well like Rodman or Wallace then your worth the money..

Since rebounds are the 2nd most important stat in basketball, I'd say it's justified. Not to mention that rebounding is done on both sides of the court. When you think about it, scoring is more important, but not by too much.

Wow, imagine all the rebounds between him and Chandler. Imagine how many second and third chances all of our perimeter players get now. Though KG would have obviously been better because of offensive prowess, Wallace will fit right in. Automatically puts us as one of the top teams in the East (which aint sayin much, though it's catching up).

Chicago can afford to pay that much for Wallace because they have other guys who can score and they really needed an inside presence and rebounding.

But I do kinda agree with Yung Lyon. Ben Wallace isn't worth 13 million a year. But Chicago had to overpay to get their guy. Happens in baseball all the time, not so much with the NBA because of the salary cap.

players who are only good on offense get ripped for not being able to defend, yet ben cant score worth shit but because of defense he gets a pass...

you have to have a very speical team around ben wallace for him to be a force...

He will not have a huge impact on the bulls mark my words.
