How Good Will the Knicks Do Next Year?

How good do u think they will do? Or what kinda moves do u think they're gonna make to try and be better?

I think they should make some big changes

First off i think they should start by gettin rid of either Marbury or Francis (preferably Francis)...so Nate Robinson will also get more playin time...

Then they would have to get rid of either Q Rich or Jamal Crawford...their too in consistent to me...and trade them for another 2/3

These are just some ideas...and oh yeah i think they should at least try to get the ball inside to Eddy Curry more...cuz most the games i saw dude would be wide open but when u have shoot first guards like Francis and Marbury they never seem to get him the ball at the right time

I still think they're gonna suck no matter what though...its gonna take more than one season to change this situation

Isiah Thomas has hamstrung this team.

With inflated contracts, and negative attention from last years season, it will be hard to move players.

He's going to have to win with what he has.

First he needs to create a philosohpy and identity for the team.

After that he needs to establish a consitent line-up.

I know Marbury is a good player and so is Francis, I feel they will be especially motivated next year to perform well and win.

If Isiah can get those two to buy into what the Knicks are trying to do, the younger players will follow.

I think Larry Brown was a big mind fuck for the Knicks last year and they shouldn't have been as bad as they were.

The biggest task for Isiah is to get the players to give effort, play hard, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

I'd say high end 38 wins, low end 30.

and no one wants marbury or francis, so hopefully they'll play well. I dont think Francis can play any worse than he did last season.

knicks might be able get rid of Marbuary or francis. they paying both players why to much to perform the b.s. they did last year. In my op. they have good set up know if you can get them to play a team game . Marbuary is a great player , but don't have the heart for the game mane , he don't wanna play team ball. If they could get a trade for one of them it would Marbuary gone.

What team has Marbury played for that wasnt shitty before he got there? They only got better when he left because they added more pieces. Minnesota was shitty for a couple of more seasons after he left. He did alright in New Jersey. They did do better when Jason Kidd came, but it had nothing to do with how Marbury was playing. Marbury did everything Kidd does except play defense and grab boards as well as him. He was doing it up in Phoenix, almost upset the Spurs. Phoenix got better cuz their whole strategy changed the next year, not just because Marbury left.

2 seasons ago when he was playing for phoenix he was a top 3 point guard. He averages 20 points and 8 assists for his career, what more can he do. Only one other player in the history of the league has done that.

And how do you figure he doesnt get respect from his peers. His skills matches up with any point guard in the league. How do you know none of his teammates like him? Have all of them came out and said they dont like him? or even hinted at it?

And i'm tired of people hating on people like Marbury and Iverson cuz they aint clean cut prettyboys.

Knicks need to get rid of Francis/Quinteen Richardson so Nate can get more PT. I say package one of them with Mo Tayler for Kenyon Martin. Fuck salary cap issues... as if the Knicks have any chance to be under the cap for the next 10 years. They might as well do it.

at first i was gonna say no, but then, you're right.

francis is a pg/sg and q-rich is a sg/sf. they are basically duplicates of starbury and crawford. get rid of those two for a legitimate big man and they should be straight. i dunno who would want to pay them the ridiculous amount of money they're earning, though.

they can't trade anybody, so they need to sit somebody down and just live with it.
Pg - marbury (40mpg)
sg - francis (38 mpg)
sf - crawford (35 mpg)
pf - frye (37 mpg spending some time at C)
c - curry (35 mpg)
nate, jalen, and q-rich get fewer minutes, jerome james and mo taylor never see the court, but you might get more wins and have a consistent line-up, which is crucial. I don't know where that blackmon guy they drafted fits in position-wise, but he seems like the kind of guy who can make his contribution in 5 or 6 minutes every 3rd or 4th game.

They'll do marginally better than last year because they won't use 42 different starting lineups this time around, and players will know their roles.
