Day 1, Happy?
Kansas City Chiefs: Tamba Hali, Bernard Pollard, Brodie Croyle.

Hali --
He's a fundamentally sound player...He just isn't very instinctive.
The thing I like about the kid, though, is that he has a non-stop motor...
He plays whistle to whistle. He's also an all-around DE.
Kiwanuka, the player that was highly coveted around Chiefs country, isn't as well rounded. He doesn't play the run particularly well.
We won't have that concern in Tamba Hali.

He's 6'3 275 so he'll likely play stack end and eventually take over for Eric Hicks.

That'd be a solid tandem (Hali/Allen) and should be solid for a number of years.

Pollard --
I wasn't as pleased with the Bernard Pollard selection, but I'm starting to think that Herman Edwards isn't a real big fan of Sammy Knight and wants to replace him as soon as possible. Pollard's a 4.6 40 guy so he's got adequate speed for the position. He's also a pretty big-hitter. Some believe he's a Rodney Harrison type player. I can live with that.

Croyle --
I was a bit surprised with the Brodie Croyle selection, but it's one I'm pleased with. The problem with Croyle is that he's a thinly framed player. He may not have the frame to add a lot of bulk, but he could definitely stand to gain 15 pounds. He's also not been all that healthy over the years... Hopefully with a veteran QB to groom him, 2 injury free years, time to learn Saunders system and two off-seasons to get his weight up he'll be able to take over for Green.

He's got pretty good arm strength, but he's got bad feet.
He doesn't feel pressure particularly well.
That's part of why he's been so injury prone.

Herman Edwards is obviously in the driver's seat of this draft.
He's taking players who were big producers in college over the guys with the great pro workouts. That's pretty much his philosophy anyway. He never really gets worked up about Combine measurables and such...

RB Laurence Maroney, WR CHad Jackson, TE David Thomas

Maroney- i wanted manny lawson or a trade down.. can live with this pick.. has the potential to be the best back of the draft but he seems a lil soft.. brady should finally have a consistant runnning game with dillion, maroney, and faulk

Jackson- didnt want him in the first, glad to snatch him in the 2nd.. my WR pick would have been greg jennings but given up a 3rd isnt that bad.. hopefully he can win the starting job opposite branch..

Thomas- the only pick i hate.. Belichick and his damn TE's

hopefully we can snag some of these guys on day 2- jason avant, mark anderson, stanly mcclover, Babatunde Oshinowo, ko simpson, darnell bing

then bring back ty law and were set

well the raiders drafted huff which is who i wanted them to get, then got an LB and OT...not a bad first day....hopefully they can find a DE or backup fullback on day 2

Vernon Davis and Manny Lawson in the 1st (as I predicted)

Brandon Williams in the 3rd not bad, I thought it was a reach and wanted to go FS with Ko Simpson, Pat Watkins, or Bing if he can project to FS.

Luckily we have the 3rd pick in the 4th round and all three of those players are still available....

i hated lendale white in college for being a trojan, but i love him now as a titan. having jarret payton be a starter for some games cause of the oft-injured chris brown & travis henry was not cool one bit. white is gonna be a BEAAAAAAAAST.

I give my Browns a solid B.

We stole a pick from the Ravens and then took FSU OLB/DE Kamerion Wimbley. I was thinking that pick would be Broderick Bunkley, but I'm really not mad at the pick. Backers are the strength of a 3-4 D and Wimbley gives us that athletic edge rusher.

For our second pick we traded Jeff Faine and our 2nd rounder to the Saints and took Maryland ILB D'Qwell Jackson. I love this pick. Dude has a ton of heart and won ACC Defensive Player of the Year last season.

Third pick we got Oklahoma WR Travis Wilson. As a JR. he was 2nd on the team in receptions and 1st in TD's, this while playing with Mark Clayton and Mark Bradley. He got hurt last season and the Sooners didn't really have a QB so he really didn't do much.

If we can address the D and O lines tomorrow I'll be real happy with this draft. The LB corp is starting to look disgusting. Willie McGinest, Andre Davis, D'Qwell Jackson and Kamerion Wimbley. I can't wait to see these dudes start cracking heads in the fall!

to bad white is not as fast as LJ nor will he have a great oline like hes used to
