oh, i'm sorry, i should have said this in the thread title: this thread is not open to delusional laker fans

it would be one thing if the usa was still dominating the olympics like back in the 90s, and even that wouldn't justify the nba champs being called the world champs. it's just basicaly assuming that the best nba team would beat the best team outside of the us, which is textbook egotism

so no more calling the nba champs the world champs, please. thank you.

^^ eh, kinda. i don't follow baseball so i don't really think about it, but it's the same principles. i know that some world series winners play against other countries for exhibition games, and that they've tried to set up some thing where the world series winner would play some other country for another championship, but ultimately no one cared enough in the end.
