anyone else completely pumped up for this fight?

antonio margarito is a granite chinned mexican pressure fighter who is capable of throwing 100 punches per round. he is absolutely relentless and ever since his close loss to paul williams, margarito has upped his workrate starting from round 1. standing at about 6 feet tall, he has massive for the 147 pound division and for as many rounds as you last against margarito, he makes you work for every second.

then you have one of the best p4p fighters in the world and the consensus top welterweight in the division, miguel cotto. look at every single opponent that cotto has faced for the past few years and they look like they just lost a fight with a meat grinder following the fight. cotto has incredibly heavy hands, pinpoint accuracy, and is widely considered to be the best body puncher in boxing.

every single opponent of cotto and margarito knows that they've been in a real fight after facing them (usually it's more of a complete beatdown). and now the two welterweight champions are facing each other. personally, i can't wait.

but Cotto's weak ass chin gives him a damned good shot at winning this.

I dont know I'm conflicted...I like Cotto in this fight but Margarito is simply a psychopath. The only time I ever see him smiling or happy is when he is beating the life out of somebody. Look at how happy he was as he was beating on Kermit Cintron's limp body telling him to get up again after dropping him. Watching him fight is almost wrong.

my heart is with Cotto but its hard to pick him after watching something like this

margarito scares me but then i thought about it... margarito could have an iron chin all he wants but when hes throwing them punches, cottos gonna counter with them devestating body shots. he will slowly cut down the tree. all cotto has 2 do is fight smart and not trade punches.

All I know is Cotto better not get Wobbled and start back peddling. Margarito has a high work rate and he wont get tired like Chop Chop and everybody else who failed to put cotto away. Cotto should have about 3 loses right now.

Margarito fights too wild though. He reminds me of Mayorga a lil with those Don Flamingo uppercuts. Margarito can eat punches but his body has been tested. If he lets Cotto bang him on the ropes it might be lights out.

I like Cotto on points. I thought he might take down Tony mid-way but it clearly isn't happening.

Cotto will land the better shots throughout the fight, I think. It is possible it might even be stopped on cuts.

I'm so fucking hyped for this. Should be a fight of the year candidate. I think Cotto will win a decision, but I"m pulling for Margarito. He's a beast who throws a lot of punches every round and can take your best shot and keep coming forward.

It's an interesting fight, no doubt. But I dont think anyone has any real faith in either one of these guys due to their obvious flaws.

It's pretty simple. If Cotto can keep react quick enough to Margarito's looping punches (as any real boxer can), he'll win. If he gets hit though, he'll lose.
