blanton isn't having a good yr..but the yrs always get rid of everybody ...they shouldn't have a team

they should just move..whats the point of that team..there not trying to win and keep there players...there like a farm team...have players come up then get rid of them

Dude, Blanton is a 3rd-4th starter at best. He has very mediocre stuff and you just got the Phils' 2nd and 4th best prospect. Not bad, actually.

lol my bad i didnt really mean to imply that i didnt LIKE the trade. i'm just sad to see big joe go- even though i had already prepared myself for it before the season even started. he can definatley be a 2 or 3 when hes on, and hes a workhorse. he just hasn't been good this year.

but in any event, this now opens a spot for Gio Gonzalez maybe. plus i'm curious to learn a lil more about these minor league guys.

They need to go the Rays/Brewers/Marlins route and lock these guys up before they hit arbitration.

Gio Gonzalez is gonna be a nice #2 caliber pitcher. He's got the strikeout rates.

you're an idiot for saying they suck and shouldn't have a team.

they're building for the future. it is frustrating to see some of my favorite players go (ie: Harden), but knowing they know wtf they're doing and that they are ALWAYS going to have a competitive team is reasurring. I mean they've had like 1 losing season in the last 8 years or something. and now with all these top prospects, they're about to be a front runner for YEARS to come.

and i agree old soul, they need to lock these kids up... and about Gio... im pissed somebody already snatched him up in my fantasy league lol
