Is Willie Mays the greatest baseball player alive?
During the pregame show of the all star games, looking at all the legends that were there like Ernie and Ryno, I realized that Willie Mays is probably the best player of all time that is still alive. Am I missing anyone that is comparable that I am just not remembering?

I guess he is in the discussion but playing CF being arguably the best fielding center fielder in history and 560 home runs, Mays is the best to ever do it in my opinion. For those that will say Ruth, if he played today he would basically just be a DH.

^ Don't bring team-induced stats like RBI into the argument... Mays has 1 point on him in the most important hitting stat in baseball, OPS+.

1 point means nothing. They are pretty much impossible to distinguish who's better.

Bonds didn't have a 'pussy' arm, some of you deal too much with the extreme. Mays arm was better yes but Bonds 8 Gold Gloves weren't a gift or earned on reputation alone. He was superb at fielding his position the first half of his career.

Not to mention no baseball player EVER was as feared as Barry Bonds was from 2000 on. I mean he damn near single handedly won the Giants a World Series.
