fuck releasing him. if he said he would of come back he would be their starter right now. why the hell would they release him and let him go to another team. potentially a divsion rival or a team on their schedule.

they ARE protecting his legacy. after last season favre can only go downhill. hes gonna get hurt, or have a bad season (which hes already done many a times in the past 5 years). now just picture him doing that in a dolphins, ravens, vikings, or bears uniform.

If they released him they would be the biggest idiots in all of sports. The only two teams that he can go to, start right away, and have a shot at a ring are both in Green Bay's division. They would have to be stupid to give him an unconditional release and if you give him a conditional release what team outside of Chicago and Minnesota could he go to and have a legit chance at going deep in the playoffs? Maybe Tampa, but even then, that is an NFC team that you don't want to risk having to play in the playoffs if you are Green Bay.
