If you're interested in knowing how to deal with multiple attackers check out these clips.

This first clip is from a tape I have by Paul Vunak. It's a good tape/DVD.

so backpedal like a girl and throw overhand swats and punches.

doesn't hurt when the "mass attack" only comes at you 1 by 1 like dumbasses. I've never seen a fight with multiple attackers where they stand behind each other like that.

Did you see the second clip? What that guy was doing in the second clip is similar to what's taught in the first clip by Paul Vunak. You'd probably need to see Paul's whole DVD.

If you use proper footwork to keep your attackers outside of you this will happen. Both Paul Vunak and that guy in clip two are focusing on keeping the attackers in front of them not allowing those attackers to get behind them. You do this by using your footwork to stay on the outside or in front of your attackers.

just doesnt seem very realistic. You'd have to be fighting some weak people. Like the guys in the 2nd clip. lol @ falling down like that after a punch.

How have you determined that approach is unrealistic? Many people have never seen how real multiple attacks happen. Most people probably base their view of multiple attacks based on what they've seen in choreographed martial arts movies which are unrealistic.

Anyway when you think about it, if you are being attacked by two or more attackers doesn't it make sense to focus on keeping them all in front of you not allowing any to get behind you where it would be easier for one of them to grab you?

Problem is, probably 90% of the time if you get attacked by multiple people, they arent going to be lined up in front of you. They'll probably start from different angles.
