...due to his injury and all, will he still be considered a "rookie" when he comes back?

Technically, he has never played in the NBA.

Would he still be eligible for rookie status and all of the accolades that come with it?

Anybody know the rules on that?

Based on how his face looks, he should be considered a 20 year veteran, and the accolades that come with it, like a wheelchair and dikembe mutombo's autographed jersey.

i wouldn't consider him a rookie. part of being a rookie is the fact that you're exposed to the nba for the very first time. oden's been around it the whole year, he's gotten comfortable.

and beasley's got ROY on lock next year anyway.

Yes, Greg Oden would be considered a rookie next year and should be eligible to be rookie of the year.

Jamario Moon entered his name into the 2001 draft but didn't actually sign until 2007. Regardless, he still played for the Rookie team in the Rookie/Sophomore game.

^^Yeah....technically, they still call him a rookie, and he is eligible for all of that. It's happened a few times before, like with Larry Bird, and Zydrunas Illgauskus.
