McGrady has been misunderstood and unfairly judged for years.
He's always had heart... the things he's lacked are an adequate supporting cast and physical health.
As far as I'm concerned, he's only truly been to the playoffs twice. It was a shame that the 2003 Orlando Magic couldn't get that last win over the #1 seeded Detroit Pistons, but it's one hell of a feat that they even made it to a Game 7. They should have been a lottery squad.
And, the Houston Rockets were poised to win on their last two trips, but Yao is all numbers and no substance... barely keeping up with the postseason pace with his limited minutes. And, the rest of their cast was horrid.
So, perhaps they're playing with something that T-Mac has lacked for a lot of years... something that DannyC mentioned. Luck.
