[do you guys realize that Kobe Bryant could be beginning to cement his case to be the GOAT right before our eyes? I mean, he has a legitimate chance at leading a team to a championship (and potential dynasty) more than ever. He isn't even 30 yet.]

i mean, this is all opinion anyway. but, in my opinion, as well as the opinion of a lot of basketball traditionalists, kobe bryant is one of the greatest SCORERS ever, maybe even the best, but all around? nah. not close to the guys i listed.

Kobe has better defense than Magic and Bird ever had, plus he's a better scorer. They probably averaged more rebounds but on all-around defense, he's got them beat by a mile. I don't recall Bird or, even at the expense of sounding blasphemous, Magic being the defensive presence that Kobe is.

His D is on par with the type of D Jordan used to enforce. I don't see him touching the rest you mentioned.

GOAT... nah. I would definitely put him in the top 5 when it's all said and done... but he's still playing... so he could go up, IMO. Lebron is definitely gonna be up there too.

Kobe isn't unstoppable like Jordan... when he goes on a hot streak, he looks invincible, but he's been routinely limited by other players... Raja Bell, for example.

Kobe needs to win some MVPs, defensive player of the year, and have more game-winning shots in order to be compared with Jordan.

It's obvious most of you Kobe-lovers have never seen Jordan play throughout his career... probably caught him at the tail end of his career when he was with the Wizards or only say his Bulls highlights on Youtube.
