PEople still consider the spurs the team to beat in the west? I havent been keeping up with the spurs as much as i usually do is why i ask, we never get at them this beastly, i think the change in bench play is making us much more potent. When we're on, we're on. But i guess the question im trying to raise here is who the finals holder is looking to be for the west this year, Id say the mavs looked pretty impressive so far, havent seen the suns as much as id like yet.

Why it always takes a hard loss to lose the complacency is beyond me, hopefully we can reduce that nonsensical shit come playoff time, not taking anything away from the way the mavs played last night, they played great. The spurs being down nineteen is exactly how we need to continue to play, lovin it.

Game aint over yet though.

haha..same here..any night the lakes dont play and a western team loses..its a good night!! come playoffs time..its going to be interesting to see detroit and boston battle it out..detroit is far deeper and they match up very nicely with them...the x-factor will be billups..if he's on top of his game..detroits gonna take it in 7..rip and ray match up nice...prince and PP...sheed and KG...it'll be a interesting series

oh and to answer your question...i still gotta go with SA as far as the Western champs...detroit beat that ass tonight...SA is kinda banged up..parker/manu/TD they all had their share of injuries just recently...pop always gets them ready to go shortly before the playoffs start..so i wouldn't put too much into tonights game..san antonio still the beast out west

I think you must not watch many pistons games, no offense. Dont see how you would in LA.

They have one of the best benches in the league. Thats like saying the vikings dont have a line. They didnt play them half of what they do tonight, thats only because we've lost the last 2 games and didnt wanna risk a third, but they usually put anywhere between 30-50 points a game rarely hitting under 30.

You're not gonna see that against a team like the spurs though, no bench is gonna come in and drop 50 on them. But during the game you heard the announcers speaking on how they're not playing the subs half as much as they usually do, and thats cause flip wanted to let the vets get this one done. Theres also reports of Webber returning, but that remains to be seen.

But yeah as far as bench production, detroit is up there with the best teams in the league in that category and has the best one i believe in the EC, could be mistaken. Check nba.com if you dont believe me. As a matter of fact, all the starters minutes are down by about 5-7 minutes per game compared to previous seasons because the bench comes in and finishes them.

There's no excuse for playing as horrible as we did last night..we've got plenty of banged up players, especially our top 3, but there's still no excuse.

You can count on us in the WCF at least.

west is as wide open as it has been in a while due to injuries, talent movin to the east and other teams in the west catchin up(lakers, portland, new orleans)

The pistons team that played the spurs in finals was worse than the one playing currently, the pistons team last year was even worse than that one due to zero bench production, and we took them to 7 games and would have beat them it not been for the robert horrible game winner. Our bench is better than championship year's. Oh wait who wooped the spurs ass that year? The team we nearly swept in the finals in 5? Like that logic?

Or how about the mavs team you didnt face last year wooping the spurs ass just the year previous to last? Theyd probably woop that ass again this year if you keep looking like you are now. You didnt have to face them last year neither.

And last year the pistons season can be blamed on flip saunders, who didnt play our bench 5 minutes and was producing shit in comparison to the 30-50 theyre puttin up a game. I agree at the west being wide open to an extent, spurs or mavs is my call though, suns might be in the running too, but they gotta tighten up on D. I havent watched them much this season though.
