Chris Berman isn't underappreciated... he's a veteran... think he's been on the network since they began. Fuck Tom Jackson, though... I hate him. He's smart and shit, but he's so smug and he kept dissin' my Panthers in '05 when we raced to the NFC championship. He wouldn't give us props all year. Fuck him!!

Sean May is probably their best analyst... that blonde guy who's kinda balding is horrible... I forget his name... but I remember he was saying Reggie Bush was a top ten RB in the NFL before he even got drafted... that dude lives off of hyperbole.

I caught that last night as well. Chris Berman is cool but Tom is a dork to me. Chirs has so much character and he just makes the show glide along with is remarks and analysis. Tom still be fumbling sometimes on shows especially when Keyshawn is sitting next to him. Keyshawn will fuck up a whole damn show sometimes and it rubs off on the other guys.

They're alright I guess...I'm not really bothered by them although Berman goes overboard with the catchphrases.

Keyshawn is too ill as an analyst though. He's one of the few recent players turned analyst, who will actually criticize the players/coaches in the league. Plus he and Parcells worked really well together.

My least favorite is Emmit Smith. uses horrible grammar and isn't funny at all. My favorite from an analyst standpoint is either Hodge or Jaworski. As far as entertainment, Michael Irvin was the best easy. I used to love just sitting there watching him interact with Steve Young. You just see Young talking and Irvin's hand come out of the side of the screen and grab Young behind the neck. I used to get the vibe that they were good friends.

chickenwang is mostly right, but Mooch gets on my nerves. He seems kind of smug. When I had NFL Network I loved Eisen, Woodson, Jamie Dukes and Deion.

Funniest thing I remember was Woodson putting Jesse Palmer in his place when they had him as an analyst. Woodson waited until after Palmer was done and said "I'm sorry Carson, I mean Jesse Palmer". Never saw Jesse around after that.

his comments about vince young on draft day were point on. people say he was hating on vince but that's bullshit. everything he said was correct. vince was not the quarterback to be a good passer, he doesnt have the anticipation, etc...

when vince started a rejuvination in tennessee with the winning, hodge just couldn't eat the crow and kept on talking shit, even after good passing games. fuck man there's a point where you just have to admit you're wrong.

I will put this simply and bluntly, because it's what I most feel like doing:

Keyshawn is decent, but not good. He's reasonably well spoken, and sometimes even insightful, but I think he harbours some bitterness towards the current crop of brash WR's.

Chris Berman is great, Tom Jackson is great.
Steve Young was great; very intelligent, humourous, and well-rounded.
Michael Irvin, as others have said, was the most entertaining of them all; it doesn't matter what show he's on, he is entertaining and insightful at the same time. I used to enjoy him, young, and Jackson together.

Emmitt Smith is mr. "state the obvious". He makes glaringly obvious points, fumbles over words and sentences, and rarely elaborates on his insights. He needs a new job.

Rich Eisen is good at what he does, I have no problem with him at all.

Mooch is boring as shit, and not very insightful. Lacks personality, to me at least.

Jamie Dukes is fine when he's speaking with his "indoor voice", which doesn't happen often, but I understand his objective, so I don't hold it against him.
