How would the record books changed?

There are some players who've had remarkable careers in baseball but missed years due to injury, military service and becoming a drunk...How would the books have changed had these players not had these things happen?

Ted Williams........missed nearly 5 seasons due to military service
Willie Mays....missed nearly 2 seasons due to military service
Ken Griffey Jr....missed perhaps 3 whole seasons due to injury with all the time he was out
Jimmie Foxx.....was essentially washed up at 33 with alcohol problems...already had 500 home runs, 2500 hits, 1800+ rbi's, 1500 runs.

Could Foxx have crushed all of Ruth's record had alcohol not (or sinus problem) wrecked his career?
Could Mays have passed Ruth with those 2 seasons he missed?
Could Williams have challenged Ruth, grabbed some career records if he had those 5 years back?
Could Griffey been battling with Bonds for the record along with surpassing 3000 hits already?

think about the negro leagues. in my opinion, ruth woulda had a much harder time hitting all them homers if he had to face all them black pitchers that had no chance in the majors... names like Satchel Paige, Webster McDonald, and John Donaldson come to mind.

John Henry 'Pop' Lloyd was a beast! Alot of baseball historians say Pop was the greatest black hitter of all time.

Even the mighty Babe Ruth, disregarding his race, said he was the greatest baseball player of all time!

I think if there was no segregation that John McGraw would've been snagging all those players because he wanted to field the best team possible regardless of race. So that would've put them in the National League, but it would've definetely put the Giants in the Series regularly.
