Found this interesting, with the word dynasty being carelessly thrown around.

CLEVELAND (AP) -- As far as Spurs forward Michael Finley is concerned, the last great dynasty had its run on TV.

With San Antonio one win away from its fourth NBA title since 1999 and its third championship in five years, Finley was asked what he thought of when he heard the word "dynasty."

"Blake Carrington," Finley quipped.

Finley was referring to the central character on "Dynasty," the popular 1980s drama series -- one that drew sky-high ratings ABC can only wish it get with this year's mostly unwatchable NBA finals.

One of the series' other main figures didn't want in on the dynasty discussion.

"That's all psycho babble," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said, using one of his favorite expressions to downplay the notion. "When I think of dynasties, two come to my mind real quick -- UCLA and Bill Russell. Everything else is just talk."

They are buildng a strong dynasty. Dynasties are usually formed over the spread of a decade of winning championships, and I think they certainly are going to exceed that, and they will probably always continue to be a good NBA ballclub. That makes them a dynasty. But we will really see them being a dynasty when Pop retires, when they have a new team, and if they are still then strong, then they have really cemented the term dynasty to their team. Which I believe wil happen.

But if there not a dynasty in the NBA no one is right now.

Not surprising because they aren't a dynasty and their extremely humble. You MIGHT see one of them start talking it AFTER they win the championship.

I think the word dynasty was carelessly thrown around with regard to the Kobe-Shaq Lakers... The Spurs are more of a dynasty than they are.
