Outrageous new P4P Ring Rankings

Pushing Winky down to 5 is awful considering the man's accomplishments. JMM at 4 is also pretty ridiculous.

Its not outrageous its actually spot on...winky hasnt fought in a while so after his fight with hopkins the rankings will change...you cant keep winky up there if other guys are fighting and winning...

the ring rankings always change.

in my opinion Bernard is lucky to even still be that high in the rankings he hasnt fought for a while.

What? Winky fought at the end of 2006, just a few months ago. Without a doubt, he has the best resume out of any fighter within the past 3 years. And just within the past year, he drew with Taylor in a fight that many thought that Winky won.

And now Marquez wins a controversial fight over Barrera and he leapfrogs Wright? I have no problem with Rafael Marquez being ahead of Wright; I would still rate Winky higher, but R. Marquez has much better accomplishments than his brother.

If I had to make the rankings, it would be something like:

1.) Floyd Mayweather Jr.
2.) Winky Wright
3.) Manny Pacquiao
4.) Rafael Marquez
5.) Jermain Taylor
6.) Joel Casamayor
7.) Bernard Hopkins
8.) Juan Manuel Marquez
9.) Joe Calzaghe
10.) Marco Antonio Barrera

I think winky has also had a controversial decision when he fought sam soliman some had that a Draw.

also that win for marquez was not controversial JMM was winning and HBO was piggy backing there fighter so ridiculously, and the undercard gerry penalosa won that fight as well it was ridiculous to see how the scored cards were scored.

barrera hit jmm when he was down dude even pulled back saw he was down for a good 5 seconds and still hit him...that should of been a DQ.

Jmm lacks power at 130 but he still has the tools It does seem he has lost a step he has been in 3 wars back to back first with a thai fighter who kept nailing him with a straight left, then that filipino jimrex jaca, and then with barrera.

I mean this is jmm last hurrah i think they gave it to him for that sake he has never broke top 5...and also they gave rafa and jmm high spots because they are two brothers holding titles which sounds impressive.

I can't see anyone scoring the Wright/Soliman fight a draw unless they had a serious bias against Winky Wright. Sure, Soliman gave Winky problems, but Winky was clearly the winner.

I blame Nady for the late hit more than Barrera. Nady took his sweet ass time to get in between the fighters. If I was Barrera, in the heat of the moment, in an extremely close fight, I probably would've done the same thing.

he is a veteran he knows the rules no excuses cant blame the ref on that...this aint UFC in boxing you cant hit a man when he is down regardless.

and its barreras fault he lost he was dumb hitting the guy when he was on the floor. it cost him. It wasnt like it was an accident seriously if barrera cant keep his composure in the ring then he shouldnt be boxing anymore period! this is the gentlemans sport if he wants to fight dirty then let him try MMA. I could understand if he hit him right after he dropped but waiting a good 5 seconds and then punking JMM like that and then loading up on a punch and then have the ref try and pull your hand back and still hit him thats premeditated no accident at all.

Barrera is one of the dirtiest fighters ever and the sore loser of them all...thats my only beef with the dude....he hit morales in the face during a press con, he also hit kennedy mckinney or junior jones doring a press con as well...and then when pacman was beating his ass he tried to headbutt him to reopen his cut, and then hit pacman on the break, and then headbutted him intentionally...i mean shit take your loss like a man..

thats why i respect morales so much more.

Ok, I just rewatched the knockdown. And Barrera waited 2 seconds before hitting Marquez. Yeah, I agree. Barrera shouldn't have done that. But Marquez didn't beat Barrera as convincingly as what warrants an entry into the Top 5 P4P.

well right now there is nothing we can do about the rankings...i remember back in the 80s almost everyone on the top 10 was heavyweights p4p rankings.

now you can see not one is a heavyweight at all.

its kinda good and kinda bad....finally the little guys are getting shine in the rankings but also boxing is dead to the mainstream without a strong heavyweight division.
