The struggling Los Angeles Clippers are talking to the Sacramento Kings about a possible Ron Artest trade, according to a report in The Los Angeles Times.

The Times, citing an unnamed high-ranking Clippers' source, reported on Sunday that the team would be willing to part with Corey Maggette in exchange for Artest.
Artest is averaging 16.4 points per game this season, but still is interested in leaving Sacramento. The Clippers, in an attempt to add scoring and rebounding punch to their frontcourt, even tried to acquire the former St. John's star from the Indiana Pacers last season.

Artest has missed the Kings' last two games due to sore knees, and has recently told The Sacramento Kings that he is not unhappy playing in Sacramento despite rumors that he and star guard Mike Bibby have struggled to develop chemistry on the court.

As a kings fan I really hope this doesnt happen. I've heard these rumors too and I dont think Maggette is enough to give away Artest for. Yes the kings are having some problems this year, but if Artest is going to be dealt... i really hope it is for an "above average" big man and a pick or so for the future

lol i wonder why they're interested in trading for a star all of a sudden? was it because they missed out on getting iverson because they're clinging onto the false hope that livingston will become the next magic? ugh.

clippers management is ridiculous. not to mention there's a kid in boston named gerald green who will be an absolute beast in the league in a couple of the years..who the clippers passed up on to get some fucking no name russian piece of shit who nobody would have drafted in the first round had they not have taken him.

with all that said, corey has to go and artest is certainly the best they can get for him.
