boxer Andre Ward on the rise

Andre Ward signed under Roy Jones Jr. boxing promotions and is going in a great direction. He also has a deal with Team Jordan which is hard to land. Won golden gloves in 2004 and his experience has paid off with 10 pro victories. This dude is a last of a dying breed and we need more boxers like him. Andre Ward also doesn't have personality I kinda give him the Ben Wallace underdog award. He's very quiet but at the same time humble. At 21 years old and under the wings of Roy Jones Jr. I can't wait to see more from him. He's gonna be a force in middle weight.

^he's a welterweight. He won't be a 160lb fighter for a few years imo.

And i hope he don't go the RJJ route of fighting cab drivers and policeman... doubt he will though.

I had the pleasure to watch this guy live in his 2nd professional fight against, I believe, Kenny Kost. Dude is incredible. He just needs to keep working at it. More often than not younger fighters build up steam then burn out quickly. I like that he's taking the correct steps.

correction he is a super middleweight trying to get accustomed at middleweight, he looks small but he has trouble making 154 he couldnt do it so he has been fighting around 160-68.

Sorry, i thought i read Andre Berto.

Andre Ward - unimpressive to me, personally. Saw him a few times.. he was on the Freitas/Raheem undercard i think. Looked ok.. Berto is soooo much a better prospect.

At 168, Bute, Froch (hes a cunt though) and Pascal are better prospects.

ya i agree with you syza.

andre ward doesnt impress me much..he is quick as hell with great speed he lacks power and his hands are down like his idol roy jones jr...lucian bute would work him easy.

168 he would get murdered he is in a class with taylor, calzaghe,hopkins, kessler etc...he wont be stepping up for like 5 years i bet...the only reason is because he is the only gold medalist from last olympics that america had so they will hype him off that.

Yeah, 160's his only real hope for a title imo. Kessler, Andrade, bute, froch, calzaghe, taylor.. there's just TOO many names in and around that 168 division that are high quality.

Is Andre Ward Dominican? Not really concerned but I thought he was half dominican or something. Also it's to early to be putting all this pressure on him. The nigga is like Lebron James (not talent wise) but age. I mean Ward is 21 give him a break. It won't be long before yall be jocking him and ordering fights on ppv.
