That's because SRL would go toe to toe...he'd put his skills on display.

Floyd is too cautious to do that...and I don't blame him. Had SRL done the same, then he would've probably went undefeated as well.

thats why i dont like floyd he fights to keep his zero not to win...one day he aint gonna be so lucky and get a decision...the old rule is never leave it in the judges hands...oscar made the mistake during the tito fight.

That was his era though. It was just a bunch of guys fighting. Power vs power.... stand in the center of the ring and sling your fists....

i've never been impressed by that. Plus, look at all the guys he's fighting lol.

You're tripping, Robinson was one of the most fluid fighters to watch. He could outslick you or rock your socks too.

ALI wanted to be like robinson, LEONARD wanted to be like leonard.. robinson had great footwork, fast handspeed, hard punches.

He's EASILY the greatest imo.

Robinson was the most fluid fighter at the time! he was a TAP dancer in his spare time! he had awesome footwork...but he aint a coward he was a warrior! he loved to trade blows thats the biggest difference if you think about it...and that robinson fought like 4 fights a month...Robinsion was a fucking fighter! dude had power too and he was knocking dudes out.

also sugar ray leonard got his nickname from robinson.

Robinson is p4p all time great for a reason.

Just because I don't agree with old farts that think so-n-so was the best ever? Thats how shit like this happens too.

Nothing on tape (that i've seen...though I havent seen much) shows how "fluid" he was. It's all hear-say. Nothing on tape shows good footwork. On tape I see a guy just throwing punches like there's no tomorrow standing in one position.

Does that mean he had no footwork? No.
Does it mean he wasn't great? No.

It means from all I've seen.... i have absolutely no reason to think he was a great boxer. A great fighter? Yes. A great boxer?....no clue... i haven't seen anything impressive.

He wailed away on a bunch of white dudes and traded punches. The only thing I've seen from video is power.

Old people from his time said he was the greatest...and it carries on to some that just take their word for it.

The same shit happened with Ali... the same shit happened with Michael Jordan (and will always). No matter how much better players get.... this generation will swear Jordan was the best...ever.... hands down. Doesn't make them wrong to think so.... that's the way it works.

I just haven't seen anything impressive on tape from Robinson. Maybe it's out there and I just haven't seen it.... but his "highlight" reel diminished any thought of him being the best for me. Until I see something.....what else am I supposed to think?
