Bonds could convert to 1B. It's been suggested, that or let Ortiz take 1B and Bonds DH, but I'd rather chance Bonds @ 1B.

Well a multiple GG OF would have NO problem converting to 1st. It's the easiest position to play on the field.

Red Sox To Retain Nixon?
Word from Gordon Edes is that the Red Sox are likely to offer arbitration to right fielder Trot Nixon. He'll be 33 next season. As Edes says, the retention of Nixon seems to indicate a Manny Ramirez trade is likely.

If the Sox do keep Nixon and complete the J.D. Drew signing, Jose Guillen will be pretty much the only decent remaining RF on the market.

That they'd even think it would seem to suggest that a Manny Ramirez deal is going to happen. With seemingly no teams aggressively pursuing him, Nixon could very well accept the $6 million-$8 million he'd likely receive in arbitration. That's pricey for Boston, but he'd sure be nice added insurance if the Red Sox are planning on an outfield of Wily Mo Pena, Coco Crisp and J.D. Drew.
