Freddie Roach may Train Oscar Dela Hoya for his May 5th fight.

Seems oscar was impressed with the way freddie roach improved pacquiao and how he handles the slick james toney that he may hire roach as his trainer for the upcoming fight with mayweather.

I guess oscar doesnt trust floyd sr enough thinking he might give oscar a bad strategy so his son can beat him...

id say smart move by oscar blood is thicker then water.

Eh.. not sure on this.

Roach is easily the best trainer in boxing, His stable is chock full of winners, BUT.. only having one fight to improve someone.. i just don't know.

Syza whats your thoughts on the manfredo jr vs calzaghe fight coming up in europe?

I know Roach improved peter manfredo big time! manfredo who was not known for punching power has hands of stone now and went from 154 to 168 and gained power and maintained speed similar to how pacman has.

I am going on a limb and saying this but I believe Manfredo jr will be Calzaghes toughest test to date!

Warren promised a BIG fight in the US.

So in turn we get Manfredo, in Wales.

Manfredo will get exposed, he's overhyped just because of the TV show. Good win over Spina, though.

ya it sucks for calzaghe but at lease the people in wales can watch it...warren is doing this to spite Hatton...warren is the bob arum of europe...the man is bitter.

He could of had a date in vegas for the manfredo jr vs calzaghe fight and the fan base from the contender in america is huge...it would of gave joe the recognition...but instead i think warren f-d him over.

The money would of been pretty big too...

but i have to dissagree wtih you Manfredo was not mentally mature during contender now he has come into his own! he is something fierce.

Also; he's getting stripped of his IBF belt for not facing his mandatory now. When he could have EASILY faced the guy instead of Bika.

ya calzaghe was supposed to come to the states after his win of chris eubank...

never happend...i dont know if tis warren who is fucking him over or its calzaghes manager and father...

this is why boxing is dying a bit...zaghes style is fun to watch and he has the looks to top it off never being cut either or banged up...instant money maker and he had that accent...women were huge when oscar came about...imagine what calzaghe would of been in the states...and it would of been huge for boxing...women get into it more then men too at fights here. lol.

It's both Calzaghe and Warren imo. Warren doesn't like sending his fighters abroad - except Cal whos been to Germany like once or twice. And Calzaghe said he doesn't like flying.

It'll hurt his legacy when it's all said and done.
