Truth, but I don't think the fact that Hogan was in WCW while HBK was in WWF should be a deciding factor in the victor at Summer Slam. Although Hogan might not have always been loyal to the company it should be noted that Hogan has has some of the most loyal fans on this planet (and beyond?)!
I, for a matter of personal opinion, DO think that Shawn Michaels should defeat Hogan at Summer Slam. I don't know how HBK was portrayed this week on RAW because I didn't see it. I'm kind of hoping he is being portrayed (by the announcers and fans) as a heel; however, I don't think Hogan should lose to Shawn as a heel.
What I would do is bring back Vinnie Mac to television on the final RAW before Summer Slam (as the ultra-heel owner, who hates Hulk Hogan) to provide fuel to the fire, using these true facts you speak of against Hogan.
We know Shawn isn't the mega-heel we all dream of seeing anymore. Let McMahon be an outside-party to the mouth of HBK. Let McMahon hype the greatness of HBK, how great of a relationship they have had for all these years; and the flaws in the relationship of himself and Hogan... all the while sticking it to the fans.
If anybody has the power to create the mega-heel out of HBK in the fans eyes again it's Vince McMahon (and it has to be for what I'm proposing). He can speak of how the fans all followed DX and they just let us come along for the ride... and criticize us for jumping on the bandwagon after the initial disapproval. He can bring up his favorite moment in DX history... when HBK super-kicked X-Pac and joined the Corporation as the new commissioner... the mention of the Bret Hart screw-job... And explain that he and Shawn have a tight-knit relationship. He can say that after 4 years, Shawn Michaels returned to the ring.... he didn't do it for us... he did it for Vince.
So, after a long speech Vince introduces to us with 100% pride, the show-stopper, yada-yada... HBK, the Heart Break Kid Shawn Michaels. Shawn comes out to tremendous discontent from the crowd. Vince continues to talk, and treating Shawn as if he were the son he never had... and maybe even say that. Just utter praise... implyingly as if Vince literally worships HBK.
And when Vince McMahon completes his final words... and offers HBK his gratitude by extending his hand for the most notorious handshake since Austin sold out at WrestleMania, and since Eric Bischoff made his first appearance as the general manager of Raw...
Shawn Michaels SUPERKICKS HIM.
