not sure..i thought he was booked for some indy shows after his no compete clause ran out, and I thought TNA had said something about him showing up their July PPV..

if the firing was a work then its pretty funny that TNA got fooled by it

Why it might be real...

The expression on Lita's face when she came out to the ring with Edge for the match. I always thought she couldn't act.

There was no mention of the initial attack after the break. They didn't pay any attention to it. They tried to ignore it.

Why it might be fake...

Did you see the handcuffs they used? Those aren't regulation are they? (Might be irrelevant)

The initial attack before somehow getting his way back into the arena.
You weren't able to see his face in the first attack. (I was thinking "that can't be Matt Hardy!") The second attack was the same thing... you couldn't really see his face. Everyone was in the way. Then after a bit you finally got to see his face. It could have been constructed in that exact manner on purpose very easily. (Could also be irrelevant)

The whole idea of ignoring it as I stated on why it might be real... could be intentional to play off to the smarks.

The fact that there's been an increasing number of things happening revolving around "real" incidents, and doing "shoots." Are they really breaking kayfabe or are they creating new life within kayfabe?

Let's just say they are lucky they had the whole Shawn Michaels in Pipers Pit following this incident. (How convenient). Because otherwise I wouldn't have hesitated to turn off Raw immediately after it took place.

Never once did Matt Hardy mention "TNA" (Pretty sure TNA wouldn't want legal troubles like that though)... he just said screw the WWE...

Conclusion...

I don't want to make an immediate decision. I mean, sure there's more I've used to say it could have been a work... but I'll just let the chips fall where they might on this one...

I think it's fake, I turned it on just at the end but I saw that untill the cops lifted him up he had his face planted as hard as he could onto the ground so you couldnt see it. If it was real he would have been yelling upwards and not into the floor. Plus wouldnt they have taken him the route next to the ramp if it was real? I dont know personally but I cant see them arresting someone and then taking them up the ramp.

as cool as it would be if it was real, it's not. first of all, Matt has already stated that he would definately come back to the WWE one day. Secondly, how convienent was everything?? Kane and Gene fighting in the crowd leaving Edge and Lita in the ring with absolutely nothing to do but get attacked by Matt. haha. c'mon, it's wrestling. nothing is real. (although i think Matt and Edge did try to throw some real punches at each other)

good job selling it though, if i was still 12 i'd buy it

yeah last night wasn't real..

makes me wonder if the firing was real or fake..one thing that struck me as odd with the firing, is that the wwe managed to keep his name out there like that and mentioning him at one night stand, then the whole faked entrance, why they keep mentioning him like that and giving him more shine and helping TNA by doing that. i think the firing coulda been fake now to and they got something worked out with ROH possibly

Ppl have been saying that, ppl have been going as far as to say that maybe Edge/Lita/Matt Hardy faked the whole situation. I dont think so, what I do think happened was this. It was real and the WWE took the cheap way out by firing Hardy. They figured he was the less of the three and dumped him instead of sending him over to Smackdown or what have you. Then like Bret Hart screwing, his legend built, and the movement started. The WWE started to see that this is someone who the fans are getting behind, rooting for, and they seen this could make money. So instead of completely ignoring it, the WWE decided to address it on a few occasions, being the Hardy video on Raw, and Paul Heyman's shout out. Now the WWE has got Hardy to come back and now it's on. But what I wonder is, will the fans care about Matt once the whole Edge/Lita thing is over? Will he become the next Steve Austin, anti establishment of the WWE? Or will he just go back to where he was last year before Summer Slam, a nobody?
