word because they still had it for what 2 years or so after they moved to TNN/Spike. Plus Spike has no problem with carrying shows with violence and sex.

They got rid of it because........because........becau se.......dammit i cant think of a good reason. Maybe they didn't have much of a Hardcore division anymore? Because from what i remember the only wrestlers in the title picture before it left were Tommy dreamer and Rob Van Dam. But i would really love to see the Hardcore championship come back.

the only reason both wwe and wcw EVER had hardcore belts was a futile attempt to compete with ecw....but for whatever reason, the use of toilet seats and wet floor signs didnt quite measure up to flaming tables and barbed wire, so the only thing they ended up doing was failing to attract the 'extreme' audience and further boring the actual 'wrestling' audience.

i dont remember if wcw scrapped it before they were bought out, but i KNOW that vince hung on to that idea far too long
