He pretty much got pissed cause Vince didn't tell him that that was going down. Basically he did spur of the moment. Well people say they all knew, but bret but who knows.

I think Bret was actually being a dick, because he wanted them to vacate the belt or some shit, and that is just retarded. I think he did atleast. If anything I think he should have had Shawn Michaels pin him, and leave it at that. It really fucking sucked that Shawn Michaels did Brets own move on him. Now that is definitly a screwjob...

^yea, i mean, i can definetely see it from Vince's point of view, his business would look weak if Bret hart (who's top dog in WWF) would just up and go to join the competition, WCW.

There's honestly not a 'good' side or 'bad' side to that story. Vince played Bret during that match and fucked him over, but Bret also wanted to achieve his personal goals.

fuck...i saw a documentary on bret hart a couple years back....bret hitman hart-wrestling with something...forget what...it was on a & e...it mighta been wrestling with life...anyhoo...

the reason bret was so mad...was becasue vince told him he would reverse the sharpshooter..shawn would tap out...and bret would relinquish the title....but when bret reached for shawns leg...vince told earl hebner to ring the bell, be cause he didnt wanna take the risk of bret taking the belt to wcw, like alana blaze/madusa...like the docmentarie was based around the whole event...and showed him first getting into negotiations with wcw...to turning them down, and decidng vince was being shady about his contract, and wcw's offer became bigger...so he accepted...they showed the next night on raw when dx brought out the midget...him and his wife were just like disgusted by it....they showed him backstage at the survivor series and the headbangers,sunny, and even shawn michaels were playing with his kids....then after the match, his wife was in the middle of a big group of wrestlers cussing them out...like you knew this would happen, that shit was fucked up....i only remeber seeing animal, hawk, and triple h....but i saw a bunch of massive arms...then bret was talking to shawn...he swore up and down he had nothing to do with it, and didnt know...they then showed bret talkin to bret behind closed doors...and thats when he punched vince....after the match...and after the spit in the face thing. keep in mind, this happened in front of his home country, and in front of his whole family...and in front of the world...if you saw this doc then u'd understand why bret holds a grudge...he was always great to vince...and vince screwed him over...simple as that....bret was one of the most loyal employees vince ever had...and bret felt he gave him all he could, and wasnt getting anything in return from vince...
