WWE TABOO TUESDAY COVERAGE
by Buck Woodward

WWE's Taboo Tuesday began with a video hyping the interactive nature of the show.

Next to the stage setup (which had a screen that looked like a computer monitor and a runway that looked like a keybord ), was Jonathan Coachman at the Taboo Tuesday Control Center (some guys sitting at laptops).

The Divas came out in streetclothes and the results for their poll was shown. School Girl outfits won, followed by French Maids, and Nurses. The Divas then returned to the locker room.

The Intercontinental Title match was set to open the show. Chris Jericho entered the ring, then the contenders (minus Val Venis who is injured), were shown in the back. The results of the poll was shown, with Shelton Benjamin coming in first, and Batista second.

Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho vs. Shelton Benjamin. They traded holds at the start, then Jericho hit some chops in the corner and choked Benjamin against the ropes. Benjamin backdropped Jericho over the top rope and to the floor, then hit a baseball slide. Benjamin rolled Jericho back in for a two count, then applied a rear chinlock. Benjamin worked over Jericho in a corner, hitting forearms and chops. Benjamin charged into a Jericho boot, and Jericho hit an enzugiri for a two count. Jericho hit a back suplex, then dropped a pair of elbows on him. Jericho suplexed Benjamin, then stood on his chest for a two count, doing his old "Come on baby" pose. Benjamin battled back with punches, but missed a dropkick. Jericho kicked him in the back, then hit a backbreaker and pushed Benjamin down to stretch him across his knee. Jericho whipped Benjamin across the ring, but Benjamin came back with a sunset flip for a two count. Jericho came right back with a lariat, and went to the top rope.

Benjamin met Jericho at the top, and the two battled back and forth before Benjamin hit a top rope superplex. Both men were down, and when they got up, Benjamin hit a clothesline and backdrop. Benjamin hit a back heel kick for a two count. Benjamin worked over Jericho in a corner, but Jericho came back with a bulldog. Jericho went for a Lionsault, but Benjamin moved out of the way, went to the top rope, and hit a top rope clothesline for a two count. Benjamin whipped Jericho into a corner, but missed a Stinger Splash. Jericho went for the Walls Of Jericho, but Benjamin rolled him into a small package for a two count. Jericho came back with a Lionsault for a two count.

Jericho covered again for a two count, then chopped Benjamin in the corner. Benjamin reversed an Irish whip, and Jericho jumped up onto the second rope for a reverse bodypress. Benjamin caught it, gave Jericho an Exploder suplex, and got the pin at the eleven minute mark. Winner and new Intercontinental Champion: Shelton Benjamin.

Post-match, Jericho put the belt on Benjamin's shoulder and raised his hand.

Todd Grisham interviewed all three contenders for the World Title. They reiterated their arguments from last night. Shawn Michaels said he had a torn medial meniscus, but that he would give his all in the ring if he was voted in. The results were shown, with Shawn Michaels (39%) winning, Edge (33%) second, and Benoit (28%). Edge stormed off when it was revealed that he lost. So, it will be Edge & Benoit vs. La Resistance later for the tag belts.

Divas Schoolgirl Battle Royal. Jazz was tearing off the sleeves of her uniform as she came to the ring. Mostly kicking and punching at the start. Nidia had her top ripped off by Jazz, then was thrown between the ropes and to the floor. She was eliminated, so apparently it doesn't matter if you go over the top, as long as you hit the floor. Victoria eliminated Jazz with a baseball slide sending her under the bottom rope and to the floor. Victoria, on a tear, then eliminated Gail Kim with a rana. Molly hit Victoria with a handspring bodyblock, while Stacy choked Trish. Molly and Trish went for a suplex on Stacy, but Victoria blocked it. Trish elbowed a charging Stacy and threw her to the mat. Trish and Molly grabbed Victoria in a double catapult, sending her over the top rope and to the floor. This left Stacy with Molly and Trish. The slapped and choked Stacy, then Trish worked on her leg. Molly suplexed Stacy, then Trish choked Stacy with a ribbon from her hair. Stacy elbowed Trish, but Molly started kicking her in the gut. Stacy rallied, kicking both ladies, then tossed Trish between the ropes, but she held on. Stacy went for a headscissors on Molly, but Molly tossed her to the apron, the forearmed Stacy to the floor. Trish then snuck up behind Molly and tossed her out for the win at the seven minute mark. Winner: Trish Stratus.

Todd Grisham interviewed La Resistance, who said it was unfair that they just found out who their opponents are. They complained about the voting system, and said they were wrestling the match "under protest".

A video package on the history between Kane and Gene Snitsky was shown. All three weapons were at ringside, as they revealed the results of the poll. The chain (41%) won, followed by the chair (30%) and the lead pipe (29%).

Kane vs. Gene Snitsky, chain is legal. Lita came down the ringside as Kane was entering the ring. The referee dropped the chain in the middle of the ring, and the bell was rung. Both men went for the chain, had a brief tug of war, then Kane started punching and elbowing Snitsky. Kane tossed the chain out of the ring for some reason. Kane pounded him some more. Snitsky put on the brakes on a whip and went to the floor to regroup. Kane went after him, picking up the chain. Kane missed a swing with the chain, and Snitsky hit some shots. Kane was tossed back into the ring, and Snitsky picked up the chain. Snitsky got back in the ring, but Kane beat him to the punch. Kane started hitting Snitsky with the chain, knocking him to the floor. Kane, for some reason, wrapped the chair around his wrist, then passed the end of it to Snitsky, so Snitsky could pull Kane into the ringpost. At least, that is what it looked like. Snitsky then went to work on Kane, whipping him with the chain and stomping him in the ring. Snitsky choked Kane with the chain, but Kane raked his eyes to break it. Kane hit some right hands, but Snitsky kneed him in the gut. Snitsky stepped on the throat of Kane. Kane reversed a whip and hit a lariat in the corner, but Snitsky caught him with a boot to the face. Snitsky slammed Kane, then dropped a pair of elbow drops and got a two count.

Snitsky and Kane traded punches, then Snitsky hit a clothesline. Snitsky whipped Kane with the chain, then choked him again. Kane was pounding on the mat, but it wasn't a tap. Kane battled up and hit some punches, but Snitsky caught him in a sideslam for two. Kane sat up after the side slam. Kane hit a series of punches, but Snitsky reversed a whip. Both men went for a boot to the face, hit each other, and fell to the mat. Kane sat up again. Lita grabbed the chain out of the ring as Snitsky went for it. Kane grabbed Snitsky in a choke, then sloppily threw him over the top rope and to the floor. Kane went for the chain on the outside, with Lita's encouragement, but Snitsky rammed the ringsteps into Kane. Snitsky picked up a chair and hit Kane with it, then tossed him into the ring. Snitsky hit Kane in the throat with the chair twice in the ring, but there was no DQ (apparently, it is a no DQ match. Snitsky went back for the chain, and choked Kane with it again. Snitsky punched Kane to the mat while choking him with the chain.

Snitsky folded the chair around the head of Kane, then jumped off the second rope and stomped on the chair, closing it around Kane's neck. Kane started spitting up blood and was clutching his throat. The referee appeared to be stopping the match, and Snitsky left the ring. However, Snitsky ran back in and pinned Kane at the fourteen minute mark. Winner: Gene Snitsky.

EMT's came to the ring to check on Kane, who was still spitting up blood. Kane was fitted with a neckbrace and put on a stretcher. Lita showed concern for Kane, yelling at the medical technicians to help him. Jim Ross speculated that he may have a crushed trachea. As they were stretchering Kane up the aisle, Snitsky ran back out and attacked Kane, toppling the stretcher and stomping him some more.

Backstage, Todd Grisham interviewed Edge, who complained about a "broken down, injured, has-been" being voted over him for the main event. Edge said the tag title was just a "consolation prize" and sarcastically "thanked" the fans for it.

The stipulations for the Eric Bischoff vs. Eugene match were explained, however, for this bout, the winning stip would not be revealed until after the match.

Eric Bischoff vs. Eugene. Eugene was favoring his back as he came out, selling the assault by Gene Snitsky from last night. Bischoff attacked Eugene before the bell and hit him with a series of kicks. Bischoff rammed Eugene into the corner, but Eugene hulked up. Bischoff told the referee his knee went out, but it was a set up to kick Eugene in the head. Eugene absorbed the kick, got mad, and punched Bischoff to the mat. Eugene ripped off his ring jacket like he was Hulk Hogan taking off a shirt. Eugene used an Airplane Spin, hit a boot to the face, then did the hand to the ear, ala Hogan. Eugene then hit the legdrop for the pin at the two minute mark. Winner: Eugene.

The voting was then revealed with head shaved (59%) winning, and being a servant (21%) and wearing a dress (20%) coming up short. Jonathan Coachman then went to the ring, and asked the live crowd what they wanted to see. They agreed with the Internet voting that he should have his head shaved. Coachman acted like the live crowd didn't want him to get his head shaved. Coachman said he had the power to decide whether the live crowd's decision or the Internet decision would be final. He said that Bischoff would have to be Eugene's servant for five minutes.

Vince McMahon's music hit, and Vince sauntered down to the ring. Vince said that the live crowd and the Internet crowd were in agreement, so tonight we would see Bischoff's head shaved bald. Bischoff said he wouldn't do it, and walked out of the ring. Vince McMahon said if Bischoff leaves, he would be fired. McMahon said if Bischoff wanted to continue to be the General Manager of Raw, he needed to have his head shaved right now. Bischoff came back, and sat in the barber's chair while Eugene had the buzzer ready. Bischoff started to walk off again, and Jonathan Coachman stopped him, telling Bischoff that his hair would grow back. Vince told Bischoff to "take it like a man". Eugene started to shave and cut his hair. Bischoff, worried about Eugene having scissors, said "He can't even handle a fork!" McMahon then called over Coachman, as Eugene was working on Bischoff's hair.

Vince McMahon ordered Coachman to take off his clothes and put on the dress, due to his attempt to change the stipulation earlier. Coachman and Bischoff started arguing with each other. Bischoff's gray roots were starting to show, so Vince McMahon made fun of Bischoff for dying his hair, saying he was a "phony son of a bitch". McMahon ordered Coachman to go back to his post, wearing the dress, and said that Eugene would finish Bischoff's haircut backstage.

Shawn Michaels was getting his knee taped in the back. Edge went up to him and said that Shawn knew his knee was hurt yesterday, and he should have dropped out of the main event. Edge said that he only lost by six percent, and if Shawn had dropped out, he would have one. Edge stomped off, mad that he didn't have the title match.

WWE Tag Team Champions La Resistance vs. Chris Benoit & Edge. Sylvan Grenier sang 'Oh, Canada' and was actually able to finish (maybe because both opponents are from Canada too), although Benoit was shaking his head over the rendition as he came to the ring. Jim Ross pointed out that Edge and Benoit have held the tag team belts together before. Edge attacked Conway to start the match. Edge pounded him down in the corner, but Conway battled back with punches. Edge hit a lariat in a corner, then tagged in Benoit, who continued the assault on Conway. Benoit chopped Conway and hit a clothesline, then followed with a snap suplex for two. Edge tagged back in, and pounded Conway. Conway fired back with punches and tagged in Grenier. Grenier stomped Edge down on the mat, then delivered a vertical suplex. He missed an elbowdrop, and Edge hit a clothesline. Edge hit a vertical suplex and went to the top rope. However, Edge climbed back down and went to ringside to argue with a fan. Benoit convinced him to get back in the ring and wrestle. Benoit tagged in and stomped Grenier, then hit a back suplex for a two count. Benoit hit a side slam, and an awkward backdrop on Grenier, then lighted him up with chops. Edge tagged back in, but Grenier hit a back elbow and tagged in Conway, who stomped Edge for a two count. Edge ducked a clothesline and hit a flying forearm. Conway rolled to the ring apron, and Edge shoulderblocked him to the floor. Edge went out after him, but Grenier attacked him, prompting Benoit to go pound on Grenier.

The match went back into the ring and Grenier tagged in, hitting a kneedrop on Edge and applying a reverse chinlock. Grenier hit a flapjack on Edge for a two count. Conway tagged in for a double vertical suplex on Edge for a two count. Conway choked Edge on the ropes, and then the two traded punches, but Conway raked Edge's eyes and dropped an elbow. Grenier tagged back in, and Edge rallied with a clothesline and tagged in Benoit. Benoit hit some chops, but Grenier whipped Benoit hard into a corner and hit him with an elbow to the back of the head. Conway pounded Benoit in his corner after being tagged in, but Benoit fought back with chops and an enzugiri. Benoit hit a German suplex on Conway, then crawled to tag Edge, but the referee didn't see it, as Grenier ran in to distract him. Edge argued with the referee, then walked out of the ring and up the aisle. Grenier choked Benoit against the ropes, and Edge turned around and looked back at the ring. Edge then turned again and walked out.

Grenier suplexed Benoit. We saw Edge in the back getting his bag and walking to his car (which had the lights on). Edge drove off, as Benoit was in a Grenier chinlock. Benoit broke free, but was caught with an elbow. Grenier went to the top rope, but Benoit stopped him and hit a top rope superplex. Grenier tagged in Conway, who stomped Benoit. Grenier came in for Au Revoir, but Benoit threw them into each other. Benoit fought both men by himself, giving them German suplexes and throwing them into each other. Benoit threw Conway into Grenier, knocking Grenier to the floor. Benoit put Conway in the Crippler Crossface and got the tap out at the sixteen minute mark. Winners and new Tag Team Champions: Chris Benoit and Edge.

Benoit held up both belts as he walked out.

Todd Grisham interviewed Triple H, who said he didn't believe Shawn Michaels was injured. Triple H said it was all a ploy by Michaels to trick him. Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler then argued over whether Michaels was really injured or not.

The history leading to Christy vs. Carmella was shown. Both women were brought out, with clothing racks and screens on the stage for them to change behind. The Lingerie Pillow Fight won (57%), with Evening Gown (33%) and Aerobics Challenge (10%) behind it. The ladies then changed behind the screens (you could see the silhouettes behind the screens, although Carmella was too close to the light to make out her shape). Christy took forever to finish getting changed, to the point that the ring introductions began before she came out from behind the screen.

Lingerie Pillow Fight: Carmella vs. Christy. Christy pulled a breast enhancer out from Carmella's top at the bell, and tossed it to the crowd. Carmella pulled out the other falsie and tossed it at Christy. They picked up pillows and started to hit each other. Feathers were everywhere. They started to catfight on the feather covered mat. Christy hit Carmella with a pillow and pinned her (with one shoulder way off the mat) at the two minute mark. Winner: Christy.

They aired an ad for the Survivor Series.

World Heavyweight Champion Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels. Shawn limped to the ring, and was noticeably favoring his leg. Michaels and Triple H traded punches at the start, with Michaels getting the better of it. They exchanged punches again, and Triple H went to the floor. Michaels was staying near the ropes to keep his balance. Michaels grabbed a headlock and hit some punches and chops, then went for a kick, but Triple H caught it and pounded the leg. Triple H stomped the injured limb, as Michaels crawled to the ropes. Michaels threw punches, but Triple H clipped his leg and stomped it. Triple H dropped an elbow on the leg, and the referee asked Shawn if he wanted to quit. Shawn pleaded with the referee not to ring the bell. Triple H dropped another elbow on the leg, then a kneedrop. Triple H applied a leglace, then dropped elbows on it over and over. Triple H applied a figure four leglock.

Michaels screamed in the figure four, but wouldn't submit. Triple H screamed for him to quit, and slapped him while maintaining the figure four. Michaels tried to turn the figure four, but couldn't, and finally made the ropes. Triple H grabbed Michaels leg and went to ram it into the ringpost, but Michaels pulled his leg back, sending Triple H into the post. Michaels got back to his feet, and hit Triple H with chops and punches as he got back in the ring. Triple H clipped Michaels' leg and went for the figure four again, but Michaels kicked him away, and Triple H went headfirst into the ringpost. Both men were slow to get up. Michaels hit three reverse atomic drops and a clothesline.

Michaels hit a chop and some punches, sending Triple H to the mat. Michaels covered Triple H for a two count. Triple H kicked Michaels leg out, and went for the Pedigree, shoving away the referee. With the referee's back turned, Michaels escaped the Pedigree with a low blow. Michaels then hit a DDT, and crawled towards a corner. Michaels made his way to the top rope, slowly, and dropped an elbow. Michaels pulled himself up in a corner, and measured Triple H for a superkick. Batista ran down, but Michaels punched him off the apron. Triple H charged Michaels, and Michaels hit him with the superkick. Batista got back on the apron, and the referee started arguing with him. Edge entered the ring through the crowd and speared Michaels. Edge ran back out through the crowd, yelling "It should have been me." Batista got off the apron, and the referee turned around to see Triple H crawl onto Michaels for the pin at the fourteen minute mark. Winner: Triple H.

Michaels made it back to his feet after the match, and got an ovation from the fans.

Backstage, we saw that Eric Bischoff had his hair cut down to crewcut length. Bischoff yelled at backstage employees for looking at him.

Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler reviewed the results from tonight so far, showing the finishes from every match.

A video package on the history between Randy Orton and Ric Flair was shown.

The stipulations for the main event were discussed, and the results were shown. Steel cage (68%) won, followed by Falls Count Anywhere (20%) and Submissions match (12%).

Steel Cage: Ric Flair vs. Randy Orton. Orton hit a shoulderblock at the bell, but Flair came back with a knee to the gut and started chopping Orton. Orton battled back with punches, and they went back and forth until Orton whipped Flair into the opposite corner and then backdropped him. Flair climbed up the cage, but Orton joined him, with both men standing on the top rope. Flair poked Orton in the eyes and knocked him to the mat. Flair chopped Orton in the corner, then hit a low blow (which is legal in a cage match). Flair stomped Orton and threw him headfirst into the cage. Orton was busted open, and Flair pounded his bloody forehead with punches. Flair kicked him in the head, then chopped him and punched him in the corner. Flair tossed Orton into the cage again, then rubbed his face across the chain link. Flair hit a kneedrop to the head, and punched Orton right in the head. Flair hit some chops and slugged him to the mat again. Flair licked his bloody fist. Orton reversed a whip and sent Flair into the cage. Orton hit a series of rights, and Flair was busted open. Flair climbed up the cage, but Orton pulled down Flair's trunks to stop him. They fought on the top of the cage, and Orton rammed Flair into the support bar along the top of the cage. Flair fell, crotching himself on the top rope. Orton started pounding Flair in a corner, and kicking him in the head while standing on the top rope. Flair hit a low blow to stop him, and send him to the mat.

Flair hit a chop, but Orton slugged Flair to the mat and choked him. Orton rubbed Flair's face across the cage. Orton hit a series of rights, then dropkicked Flair, who was trapped between the ropes and the cage. Flair tried to climb the ropes and cage, but Orton slammed him off the top rope. Orton hit a flying bodypress off the top rope for a two count. They exchanged punches and chops again, with Flair getting the better of it. Flair crawled for the door, but Orton pulled Flair back in. Flair grabbed a pair of brass knucks out of his trunks and slugged Orton. Flair crawled onto Orton for a two count. Flair went for the door again, but Orton grabbed his foot. Orton pulled Flair back in, but Flair pulled a chair in with him. They both got to their feet, and Flair went for a chairshot, but Orton ducked and hit Flair with the RKO for the pin at the eleven minute mark. Winner: Randy Orton.

After the match, both men got to their feet, and Flair offered Orton a handshake. Orton shook his hand, and hugged Flair. Flair stumbled, but Orton helped him back to his feet. They shook hands again, and the two stared at each other to end the show.

Trifektah takes it up the butt!
Nah, it sucked pretty bad. Further proof that the WWE has forgotten how to put on a good PPV.

The Shelton/Jericho match was average at best. No near falls, no Walls of Jericho........zero suspense. Shelton hit a powerslam....1...2...3....new champ...blah blah blah

Kane/Snitsky went on WAY to long. Basically it was all punching with very limited use of the chain and Snitsky looked like he was trying to give Kane a massage instead of looking like he was trying to cripple him with it.

The Tag Title match was also pretty dull. It was all La Resistance dominating Edge until he walked out......a minute later Benoit got the Crossface for the win.........blah

I admire HBK for going out injured and giving his all but it wasn't that good of a match at all. It had no believability to it..........HBK hobbled around and punched and chopped Triple H....I didn't know you could beat Triple H with simple punches and chops.....anyways Edge comes out Spears HBK.......1.....2.....3......blah

Orton/Flair was the only decent match of the night, but Flair is a geezer and couldn't last more than 12 minutes. Pretty bloody......but I suspect the poor quality of the previous matches made this one look better than it really was......

The Eugene/Bischoff match and the Pillow fight were monumental wastes of time......they took longer than the damn title matches.......
