Nobody said only Canadians liked Bret Hart. Bret Hart's book has not been released in the United States yet. That's the deal there.

And right now the American dollar isn't looking too good. The Canadian dollar hit a $1.10 US last month. Not that it has anything to do with this.

But what does have to do with this is that Bret Hart didn't actually draw into the rising popularity of pro wrestling in the '90s, he was used at a time when things were going downhill, and when things started to go back up again, he was on the losing team (WWF). What he did do was usher in Stone Cold Steve Austin, and in that respect will forever be connected to the increase in popularity that allowed WWF to sustain its recaptured imagination.
