Family Business

Where do I begin?
My family's unstable, full of sinners with hidden labels
& we discuss our many concerns at the dinner table.
Where we'd never been able to eat for five minutes
There's a hole in our relationship & soon enough well die in it
And get covered by the dust we never bothered to collect
Instead we were to busy with trust funds & picking up the check
Discovering life with credit cards and dumb plastic things
Our loose ends were used to girp the unattached strings
That was holding us together.
If this what cash brings, caffeine and flash rings
Then I wanna grab my things & fly away with my damaged wings
Cause I can't stand this scene, I might say goodbye today
And leave to my hiding place that's a little over a mile away
Where my best friends stays, or I might not. It depends
But I got a scary feeling the road were on is a dead-end.
This family's build on a foundation that can't be counted on
Our calculation was wrong & the once profounding love is gone
Were burning the bridges we lived under for years
Being the monsters that we are, hiding behind our worst fears
Were not fighting the threat, instead were citing to death
Letting the cracks in the wall split all the writing we left.
& with all the hate that's building up its only a matter of time
Before I start acting out these patterns of rhyme
This is nothing like Kanye, our issues are deeper than real myths
& their gonna need more then tissues & Jesus to deal with.
