I slept softly, but was disturbed by this sound above me - a slight creak
This house was old and every now and then it might leak
And on my right cheek I felt a drop of water, but nothin serious
Just enough to get me out of bed a little curious
I wasn't furious by any means, but certain scenes had my adrenaline running
And the littlest something turned into the biggest fucking somethin
I started runnin, I lived alone - no family or close friends
Off the counter I grabbed my onion, money-fold and rose timbs
Couldn't comprehend the scenes that unraveled before my very own eyes
I hit the street and couldn't believe the images that were blown by
It was utter chaos in every respect, clasped hands grasped the nearest object
It was like the great prophet had come to clear these projects
My heart was beating to the sound of my timbs hitting the deep water
Terrified as I passed sharks, dolphins, and sea otters
The metamorphis of two worlds, my body slowly went into shock
I needed a team of experienced paramedics, a nurse and two docs
But somehow I worked through it and found the strength down within
To put one foot in front of the other as I tried to think of my town and my friends
I was well outside the city limits, amidst miles of stranded people and lost kids
And the only image that came to my mind were of the camps in Auschwitz
Thousands lost, we need comfort with still no sign from the leader
I just can't believe all this devastation caused by hurricane Rita
