New Rules / Changes

In hopes of increasing involvement, the Mod staff will be making minor modifications to the RSTL. The input of all members is welcome, appreciated and crucial.
This thread will be updated whenever any change is implemented so watch for new replies (Which can only be made by Mods) to this thread whenever you come to the forum.

First new rule:

If you show up for your match and your opponent does not show up, you must vote on 2 matches to be credited with a win. The Champ and Contender's Match.

If you post a no show verse and don't vote, you will not get the win. You will remain in the league at the same rank with no win or loss as if you didn't do anything since virtually, you really didn't do shit anyway. This is an open mic forum, you must vote to win no shows.

some new rules to insure that the voting system is not taken advantage of by lazy people who haven't spent enough time to really read through verses and cast fair votes.

-your vote must include 2 lines of analysis on each verse at the least for every verse that isn't a no show verse. quotes will not count as lines of analysis towards your vote, but you can include them if you wish to do so to make your point.

-there will only be late posts of verses if your opponent agrees and you're are within a considerable gracve period. That means verses are due Saturday night, if you're trying to post your shit on Sunday night, you lost, no exceptions. If you opponent allows you to post a little late he must post that it's ok in the match thread before voting can start.

All votes still must be hidden and will not count if they aren't hidden.

Because votes are hidden, outside members of the match can't post ANYTHING in matches before they cast a vote. Only votes are allowed to be posted in matches by other members. If any other posts are made, that will result in a disqualification of the posting person's vote. It won't count in that match or any other match where posts were made that wasn't votes. Votes are hidden for a reason so don't post in matches unless you're voting.

NO SHOW VERSES

There has been too many lazy wins given. Because of this, I'm imposing a now verse rule that must be followed to recieve a win when posted.

1. A Bar = A line
This means no more 1 word lines that just say a sentence in all as your no show verse. 4 lines is not much to give for a win so you can at least honestly give that much.

2. No show verses must also pick and follow a topic. You will have to post your topic because I will be deciding if your verse is even an attempt to following the topic. I won't be too harsh a critique cuz that's not the purpost at all, but if it doesn't come close to any topic of the week, you will not recieve the win.

3. No show verses only count when your opponent doesn't show. If your opponent shows, then you both will have to have a verse of at least 14 lines/bars as the rules already state in the verse limits. It you both post no show verses, neither one of you will advance with a win. No show verses are for no show matches only. The verse minimum is 14 lines

You will now be required to vote in the Championship and Contender's Match. These are the two matches for every no show winner to vote on and every member of the league to vote on as well. If you don't vote in those matches, you will not advance. You will recieve a win, but your rank will not change.

You must vote on at least 4 matches to advance if both you and your opponent show up. If you win without voting, you will stay at the same rank, but a win will be added to your record. The exception for championship matches will be that if a champ doesn't vote, no win will be granted if they don't vote on the matches that they're supposed to.

Free posting in matches, talking shit in other peoples matches or any bullshit like that will get you a vote subtracted from your record for every stupid ass post you place in someone elses match. The mods can handle the problems and we don't need several people posting nonsense in matches all the time.

Members will be allowed a maximum of 3 posts per match thread. 1 post to check in (that can be edited to make any valid disputes). 1 post to place your verse in. 1 verse to place your vote in. No more excess posts because you wanna argue about shit. Contact a mod if there's a problem or place you dispute in bold in the check in post that you can edit.

VOTES DUE Tuesday: 12:00am PACIFIC/3:00am Midnight EST

*Check-in (Posting in your match to show that you are aware the match exists) is encouraged but not required.

*Verses must incorporate at least one of the provided topics and must be at least 16 lines and must not exceed 64 lines.

*Anyone who does not post at least 4 rap lines, incorporating at least one of the provided topics, is considered a no-show.

*During check-in, you can ask your opponent to agree to a line limit (Minimum 16) and if your opponent agrees, Moderators will hold both participants to that limit.

*Posting between 4-15 lines is considered a no-show.

If You Don't Post A Verse, You Don't Get To Vote Unless You're An Ex Champ. Ex Champs Must Vote On A Minimum Of 4 Battles For Their Votes To Count While They're Not In The League Or Have No Showed In Their Match. If They Fail To Vote On All 4 Matches Before Due Times, None Of Their Votes Will Count.

I Have No Problem With Crew Votes, But I'm Going To Limit Them To 2 Crew Votes Per Match Because Any More Than That Seems Severely Biased And It's Only Fair To Not Be Cluttering Your Crew Mates Match With Votes. Any More Than 2 Crew Votes And None Of The Crew Votes Will Count At All. Got To Keep Shit Fair And This Has Been An Obvious Problem Of The Past.

RECYCLING IS NOW STRICTLY PROHIBITED. You may not use any verse that you have previously used within the league at any time. Whether it was a no show, tournament verse recycled for the league or visa versa or any verse that have ever been used within the league perimeters.

NO SHOW RULE

Because I'm dissapointed in the way this has been abused constantly by Vets and they're just basically wasting time by even signing in... I'm imposing a rule that will have an efect on that.

If you no show 3x in a row, meaning if you sign in and don't show 3 times without posting a verse in those 3 times, you will be automatically suspended for 3 straight sign in. So when you sign in 3x afterwards, you will not be entered in the ranks of league or tournament matches. I will be keeping track of no show names in here, especially since they're mostly vets
