FAREWELL TO ALL
The first thing i wanted to say to everyone that have loyally and feverishly been reppin' the RSTL is that... I did not expect this league to resume and continue and be where it is right now. With this, we've been very consistent and loyal to doing the annual TOURNEYS... the story/topic tourney of 64 and also this experiment of the tag team tourney. I think this project is legit, even though yall couldn't rock my topic!
I realized and knew from the start that the essence of writing requiring both a battle rhyme and/or a story/topic rhyme were the two main types of rhymes that differentiated from each other. The battle textcees are given their own style of writing and it was easily distinguished that these two leagues RBL and RSTL MUST exist.
The two totally different styles was made me know for a fact that the RSTL had to be created and thus far, it's been a grand thing to see.
With my retirement as MOD, I want to see the league flourish and excel in other people's hands and to be continued where people can attempt to create some innovative things with this league. --- So far the tourneys have been a good sign of annual events done that provide the best in the RSTL.
The people characterize and make what the league is today. From the folks in the past to the folks of the present, I am happy to see so many people from different parts to come and produce this league to give itself its notoriety and its significance.
There have been some beautiful writers, writers that I felt have potential, and also some writers that I didnt think too much of and also those I didnt really like. The fact of the matter is... these types of personalities is necessary and shows the character of some people and what they provide.
From the GOAT to the AWEDISHIN to the NYSE to the TALENT.... from the TRAPEZOID to the WWIII to the FIRESPITTA to the VERNACULAR...
Im sure the next MODS will bring about the best service to the league to engage more new folks to enter and bring a larger membership to the RSTL.
I just wanna say thank you to all of you who've excelled, who've improved and/or who've been loyal, even those who I don't like. You all have a passion for this type of writing as I do and take light in appreciating this type of rhyming existent esp. in a league so we wouldn't have to look to the RBL so much and see it flop or flourish.
I will compete at times in the league when I feel that hunger to wanna rep --- but my place right now is the OPEN MIC FORUM because that was where I started the site. For those that didn't know the OPEN MIC FORUM was the "EMCEE HOOKUPS" of the site. ---- Everything happened in that forum and that's where I'll be going to. Now that there's only one OPEN MIC FORUM --- alotta activity will be done and i wanna spend my energy and time there not having to worry about posting and closing matches... I get to see and maybe tutor/mentor those who deserve the limelight.
With this... I will say that i DO NOT intend on ever returning to the MOD the RSTL. -- I wanna go down as the TAMMRON or the PRICELESS of the RSTL. -- I want someone to carry the torch.
Again... thank you... all of you for not making the RSTL die.
You are proof that this league is necessary for existence.
