TOP 10 VERSES
(Written By: Tha Talent Production)

10. Desenuts
...though it was by no means his best effort, Desenuts ended up with a nice, creative, well written story this week...his flow, as always, was solid, even though his rhyme scheme was a little simpler than normal...he took an interesting twist on his topic, a deeper version of the insanity twist...well told story that entertained well in his shut out(i think?) of Neo Soul...very nice verse.
9. Awedishin
...he pretty much got shut out by NYSE in the title match, but so did i two weeks ago...Mac went with a style of verse that generally disguists me because of its lack of originality: the story diss...but mac pulled this one off, and until he got to the end of his verse, i really liked his verse...infact i might have voted for him if he had come up with a better ending than that...it was a very nice verse, and even though the twist lacked originality, it was as well done as any story diss i've ever read.
8. Wise-Punchlines
...he barely edged out Cogzwell, but Wise-Punchlines showed me something this week...he has a few rough edges: his flow needs to be a little smoother and sometimes he oversimplifies things, but wise is a good writer with a creative mind...he had a lot of emotion this week in his piece on the topic everybody chose: the ex-girlfriend...and, unlike people such as War, he actually told a story with the topic, and it was a good one...Wise wrote, though not an incredible verse, a very likeable verse that kept me entertained.
7. Worst Enemy
...i was the only one to vote for Worst in his match against IV, and i'm not sure why...he had a solid flow, but his strength was his writers voice and a great concept for the topic...the only negative about this verse was the length, and length isn't that big of a deal...he held it down nicely, really strong wording as mentioned...i'm still pondering how IV wrote a story diss about Michael Jackson and somehow managed to beat this verse...anyway, Worst deserved this spot.
6. MC4Sight
...normally, there are a lot more no show verses that deserve top 10 spots than just one, but this week 4Sight is the only member of the top 10 who didn't have an opponent...4Sight really went abstract on the conversation with God topic, in what was a revert back to the style he used against Peril...it was a very nice, intelligent read, thought the ending could use just a little more creativity...still worth a top ten mention.
5. Vadik
...i voted for Tekneek in his battle with Vadik this week, but that doesn't mean Vadik isn't still my favorite writer in the RSTL(as i said last week)...Vad had the most well written verse of the week, and put it down with a nice topic and a Richard Corey "sample" as the hook...i really enjoyed reading Vad's verse, which would have been the verse of the week if he had expanded more on the ending...still, a nice approach.
4. aesthetics
...i don't recall, in my time doing these top 10 verses, ever putting anyone in the under 40 as high as i am putting aesthetics this week...aes really suprised me though, taking a tremendous concept for the "conversation with God" topic and letting us enjoy...tek said he felt Aes went too far off topic, but i feel that he just made the topic his own...beautifully written, one of the only verses to compete with Vadik for most well written verse of the week...his battle with Headless Verseman this week may end up the battle of the week(though Lithix vs. Richard Corey or IV vs. Jowelz will likely take that crown).
3. Author NYSE
...i don't like greek mythology...but i love Author NYSE's style of writing...and that carries him to the #3 slot this week, which is lower than he normally gets, but still is top 3...anyway, i feel that NYSE truly showed his writing skill by makign me get enjoyment out of a concept that i hated...he really let loose on the poetic writers voice this week, and though it was by no means my favorite verse from him, he still ended up nearly shutting out Mac...NYSE is vying to tie the record for most consecutive weeks in title defense, a record held by InsaneVillain and Peril Eyes of 5 straight...all he needs to do is beat Tek to put him in that very select group...NYSE has truly established himself as an RSTL great.
2. Tekneek
...it seems i have underestimated tekneek...though, in my opinion, he did not deserve to win last week, this week he won and emphatically gained respect from many doubters, including myself...he showed emotion, imagery, flow, and writers voice, all capped off by a great conclusion...overall, a great verse, the best i've read from him, easily...its his job to end Author's streak before he ties the record now...will he be able to come as nice as he did last week?
1. God Extentions..
...tek called it the "battle of the year", but i think trap clearly outshined me, even though i did end up the victor...trap had a tremendous verse...such an incredible twist, using one of the only greek myths that actually intrigues me...he really showed tons of emotion, and spoke from personal experience for most of the verse, then brought forth an unexpected twist that actually watched my mouth drop...tremendous verse, well worth the verse of the week.
