So a couple weeks ago i found myself in a heated debate
it seemed i may have been the only one with reasons to hate;
And i was deeply dismayed,
to find out, i was the lone speaker to actually reasoned this way!
After reading the paper it became a group discussion
another rapper caught in the act; yep......drugs possession
but what was interesting were the different arguments heard
and the more i listened,
the more i noticed something disturbing
but first thing's first, im not what you would call a lecturer
Sure, life isn't always black and white....even for the best of us
subjective reasoning; It can be a curse or blessing
But this was one of those moments were i couldn't except it
Not that im evil or heartless
it's just....i refuse to support dudes bringin evil to projects
see i guess it all started with this statment here:

"The po's gotta layoff some of these dudes man. They just doing what they have to do to survive. You got rapists and murderers out there and they're busting dudes fro trying to survive.."

Sounds noble right?? WRONG!!
That's the most likely song,
that one would sing just to try and justify a cause
that's nothing more than an act of greed;
deceiving the law
asking for grievance as recipients lay deep in the morgue
not to mention the broken families still weeping on floors
never mind the source of the cycle or the force of the rifle
since they're not rapist or murderer, they have a life time pass too?
Now i respect this rapper's art, but i condemn his action
and the fact that some are making excuse for his ass, is sad. Some
suggested that perhaps he's trying to fit "That" urban mold
a kinda of stripes one MUST earn as their creds unfold
I disagree to a degree and my reason is simple
And it's best illustrated by this B.I.G. quote:

I'd never amount to nothin', to all the people that lived above the

It was eloquently written with some rather intelligent quips
You can't help but feel for the guy...but then, just listen to this:

in other words, thing's aren't always as they first appear

See, it's just his own justification for an action declared...
immoral; A kind of defense mechanism created
and for the record, yes, i do think Big's one of the greatest
But the point i'm trying to make is...a crime is a crime
though we tend to romanticize with those life at times
i think it's time we seperate the fuckin facts from lies

Chin - this verse was pretty ugly to look at but the read itself was pretty good .. the mechanics weren't too hot but not really flawed to a point that spoilt the read any .. the main thing with the verse is the content though .. it was written with purpose and delivered a good message in the topical mold .. basing the moral around Biggie worked well and I liked how you made comment within your verse to both the quotes and your opinion of those quotes .. worked well and I liked it ..

Khoi - this was a bit short and not really focused .. the read wasn't terrible but there were no real redeeming features to elevate the piece beyond the obvious problems of length and lack of real direction .. felt a little bland in both the concept and how you tackled it .. lacked emotional value and the mechanics weren't delivered with any feel of pinache ..

Vote = Chin Kwon .. gave me more with the content and I actually enjoyed his approach to the concept ..

This is actually closer than it appears to be despite the discrepancy of length between the two pieces. Chin's verse; a moral observation of crime and a deep truism about the country we live in... I liked it in that sense. The writing wasn't too great. A bunch of words in bad places and hard to follow flow. But I did like the quotes and your reasons for using them worked in the end. Khoi's verse was actually pretty decent for it's length. The description was pretty good, but length did do him in here. Not ENOUGH description to turn the obvious emotional connection into something more involved. A few more lines, a few more good ideas and you capture the reader rather than just take the reader on a predictable journey. I do like your message of Nature and it's beauty. Had you extended on that point and tied it in more with the Nature of Love, this probably wouldn't have been that close.

chin - i liked you verse..more of a topical but i still enjoyed it..worded the quotes it well but i didn't like the biggie thing because wen he said that he was talkin bout after he got rich n hes glad that he is able to do it now when he couldn't then..the mechanics weren't nothing special either...not many multis...flowed well..

knoi - cliche type piece..thought your flow was there..skeme was simple...some use of multis but you made that up in mid bars to me...even though alot of people dont take em into account...story itself was okay....it was kinda just talk that i couldn;t really get into..not charecter devolpment no imagery..

ima give the to vote - ( knoi ) though - thought he had better mechanics and since niether was much of a story ima go on that..niether verse did much for me though

i gotta type this quick, i had broken down the verses and rapmusic froze on me...

chin kwon- i'm not really a fan of talkin to the audience in your verse- but that might be a personal flavor type of thing. however, i really enjoyed the 'moral' of your story and the way you went about breakin it down. i'm a fan of different and this had a feel of different and good execution.

khoi - i dunno man, i wasn't really feeling this entry too much. it was basically your average love story slightly framed to meet the standards of the topic. mechanic wise you didnt really do anything above average, however it did read pretty smoothly. no advanced mechanics though. i see promise however, keep at it.
