The peasants hunger grows
Weak, dropping flesh to rock, under crows
Picked apart, gaping wounds is where the blunder loathes
The ships wreckage fed the belly of the undertow
Stranded on a foreign beach, scorned in heat
The ships rations gone, no more to eat
....The people stand famished,
Plus it's only been hours since the last mans vanished
Into the woods that scream and heckle
Trying to find food and
dreaming to eat a seckel
The captain is Oleg, he's the brains
That feeds the stranded, words of hope, to ease the pain
Praying to god, seeing what role heaven plays
But they're growing antsy, they haven't eaten in seven days
"We're going to die!!" a frail man causes an uproar
A woman yells "enter the woods if it's death you lust for".
No one who has entered, has ever returned
So the heap of hope they once had was rarely heard
It started off with the first two men who volunteered
Then another 2 to deem true what they all had feared
2 more followed each day so a total of fourteen
None ever seen again,
Only the remaining peoples minds hoard the screams
Captain Oleg decides no more will enter the woods
The change
On day eight, a rescue ship approached in the distance
That gave everyone a glimpse of hope in an instance
When the ship arrived, it lit their eyes
Plus they were all given, shrimp and rye
As they boarded the rescue ship, they heard hoots
Then cheered with joy as out from the woods emerged the first two
With blood stained teeth, and flesh in their fingernails
The people sat with anticipation waiting for eager tales
But none arose, the first two just sat in silence
One of them had a crazed grin and he would bat his eyelids
Captain Oleg knew what happened but he behaved in fact
He didn't tell a soul how he thought the first two made a pact
To go in first, and not come back so when the time ends
The group will send more people in to try and find them
And they would eat whomever was sent in after them
Cannibals trying to survive, and they mastered it
When they reached home, they seemed prone to wanting to be alone
And no longer seen in public, only reachable via phone
Rumor has it, they still eat people til this day
Scouring eyes and sharpened teeth that lead to dismay
In a place, not too different from your home
But being a cannibal is not too distant from your own
In a world where survival of the fittest reigns true
How can you honestly say what you would sink your fangs through?
There is insanity in every man.
