"GENERAL RULES"

VERSUS DUE: Every Thursday @ 11:59 PM EST
LINE LIMIT: Minimum of 16 lines, Maximum of 64
** NO RECYCLING, NO EXCEPTIONS **
• Recycling is the equivalent to that of a no-show and will be treated as such, thus resulting in a loss in favor of the participant whom chose to recycle and a win in favor of his/her opponent

• Extensions may only be granted if a moderator has given consent prior to a verse being posted in the match OR your opponent gives his consent
• If granted, the extension will override deadline for both participants extending it for no more than 24 hours
• CHECK-INS are encouraged, but not required
• Verses MUST incorporate AT LEAST 1 of the provided topics
• A failure to show will result in a loss and a sign out by default
• If your opponent fails to show, you MUST STILL post AT LEAST 4 lines (4-15) AND 2 voting links in order to claim victory
• A Championship Title WILL NOT be decided by way of no-show!!!
• If an opponent fails to show in a Championship match, the remaining participant will be ranked as the number 1 seed, but will not be considered a Champion until a win by vote
• Upon your second no show, you will be suspended for two weeks of competition. A third no show will result in a three week suspension and a fourth will result in a suspension for the remainder of the season. There is no suspension for first time no showers.
• Competitors are limited to posting 3 times in their own match, which allows for checking in, posting votes, and posting a verse. For each post over 3 unless deemed necessary by the mods, the competitor will be docked one vote.
• Each competitor may only post once in another competitors battle allowing for a vote and nothing more, if you would like an explanation or to explain as to why a vote was cast a certain way, you can pm them or point things out properly in the vote to begin with. Violating this will result in losing a vote in your match.
• Members found constantly disruptive to the league will have their sign-in ignored.

• If your opponent fails to show, you are still accountable for voting on AT LEAST 2 matches as well as posting those links in your match!!!

I’m sane among the mentally deprived
All my life I have strived to gain fame
A status uplifted name, a star by all rights

Critics deemed it a panic attack of unknown proportions
As they crawled up my back I had to make contortions
I figured out how they reached my spine
“PANTS” a solid climbing wall to reach my mind
As my brain is what they are after or so I assume
If only you could understand my gloom
See what I see, hear what I hear
Feel what I feel, fear what I fear
But eyes closed to the pain of others
Only shudders at the possibility of critters
If you would look closely to see and not to mock
You would see them gather, which looks like a white spot
A close friend told me “to destroy them, absorb them”
Not knowing, I took the path of lesser men
Adding addiction to my torment
As I was sniffing their souls as if this skill was heaven sent
And truth be told their faces didn’t unfold before me
Stayed dormant in places which I now consider unholy
My stardom kept me rolling on the road of success
But now it’s unfolding, it seems I owed more, than simple stress
A single platoon gathered to rush me as soon as I missed a sniff
As my vanity shattered and my flexible mind became stiff
I was forced to go home which I left alone to collect dust
A single chair a bed and a TV as those are a must
But as soon as I entered through the door

Which I could only express in screams
Which didn’t go unrewarded so it seems

IT - you're a crazy bastard...your rhyme scheme and flow is ridiculous and probably pretty much unrivaled, though your progression is definitely something that probably not everyone will get as you tend to write with a little bit of abstract. I enjoyed the piece and though it was crafted really well though I don't feel that you incorporated the topic of rise over run to the fullest, but it worked.

Mr - I think this was clever in the whole panic, manic depression and paranoia scheme of things that fit the picture well and I like the way you presented the piece from the characters eyes, it really helped your imagery and emotion along, what I wasn't into all that much though was the flow as it was choppy and smooth...choppy and smooth...beyond that I'm sure you know as you've heard it a million times about needing to improve your scheme.

What I think sets this battle apart is that IT gave me a piece that felt complete whereas I just felt something missing from Mr Mister's piece.

IT - this was cool .. I liked how you structured this piece .. low syllable count on the bars kept it reading at a smooth rate .. the content was cool with some nice play on wording when setting the scenes .. it was pretty unique in how you presented it both aesthetically and content wise .. similar to what I did last week in making use of completely cutting out the filler and sticking with precise points of interest .. good shit ..

MrMister - not bad .. not great .. a real middle of the road run for me here .. flow suffered in places but never enough to distract from the read .. but that read just wasn't all that interesting .. which may sound harsh .. cos the content is more let down by the vocab used in the rhyming than the actual ideas behind the wording .. could have been a solid verse .. but ended up being kinda average ..

Vote = Infinite Truth .. I like abstract work when it's used in a good way .. and this was the case here .. it wasn't over done on that front as it was fully understandable whilst still having a unique aura to it .. I enjoyed ..

IT]- First and foremost, Love the abstract style here. Some abstracts pieces tends to sway the real point of view, the main-idea of the whole concept. Here you showed the readers the Imagery/setting of the whole piece as to what is going down. At first I thought this was going to be a war piece about soldiers dying in battle or something and then the last line came in and I was like ‘oooohhhh’. Good approach but the concept though, you didn’t give it it’s full potential. As for the concept anyway, I felt the idea was good but the build up and the mechanics was kind of lacking. All in all, good write.

MM]- This was Ok. The Imagery was the best aspect in this whole verse and some emotion too. The flow was ok, there were some grammatical errors and it seemed forced to me. I like your approach but the mechanic and content didn’t really support it. This had a lot of potential but it was kind of a let down. I couldn’t really get into it.

Hah man u showed.. lol.. good shit dude impeccable flow, very creative and original wordplay with a heavy set of emotion.. The way u structured this verse it came off more like poetry then a rap story but at the same time it reads off a lot faster giving the action sequences more of an urgency feel – which I liked so.. Pretty dope drop dude.

Ok im def up for the topics u chose cause at the start I couldn’t choose which I wanted to do out of those two.. So I don’t really think u meshed the topics together well – im like coo coo for 3/4’s of it some busted ass lines but nothen major…then the last few bars were like u started sniffing the coke u was writing bout n your structure n rhyming abilities got thrown out the window.. It was n ok verse n you def have potential as a writer I just think this suffered a lil towards the end.

IT got one of the most unique styles the RSTL has even seen. the verse looks real easy to write format wise, but there is just a certain level of thinking going on in each line that most minds dont venture to, and you end up getting an abstract dope piece.

minister... I really have to give you credit for using that picture.. I sat an looked at that fucking picture for awhile and couldnt come up with anything for it.. as far as the story, it was ok.. but in terms of the better piece, I would have to say truth took this with more creativity an style

IT: Yeah I really liked the rhyme scheme, but at first, it was just that, a great rhyme scheme, I mean I didnt know where u were taking the reader. and then I read the ending, good shit

MM: I mean i liked the verse and i liked what you were trying to do with it, I mean the flow was easy to follow and the rhyme scheme was there but the ending to me felt forced.
