VOTES DUE Tuesday: 12:00am EST PACIFIC 3:00am (also meaning early early morning Tuesday for people in the US)

[*]Verses must incorporate at least one of the provided topics and must be at least 16 lines and must not exceed 64 lines.

[*]During check-in, you can ask your opponent to agree to a line limit (Minimum 16) and if your opponent agrees, Moderators will hold both participants to that limit.

Do you remember YOUR first time?


You were probably as nervous as me,
But determined to see, what your words could achieve ..
.. Once you’d emerged on the scene,
And could turn a serene, canvas into something worthy of dreams.
Graffiti served as the means,
To which I applied my stirgent belief ..
.. And I pursued the matter ‘til my shoes were splattered -
With more paint than ANY amount of detergent could bleach!
For years I’d nurtured a deep yearn for release ..
.. And so these turbulent streets,
Spurred me to keep, trying and further my reach.
With earnest I seized upon a resplendent urge to be seen,
Skirting the reams of this fervid retreat -
Where me and the walls coarse naked surface would meet!
It's massive girth would intrigue me to turn up my sleeves ..
.. And stir from beneath,
The girders that keep it supported from the scourge of the heat.
These walls deserved to be teemed with a certain prestige,
And so I sternly besieged, it's heights...
...With a piece of chalk held firm in my teeth.
Concerned with its each and every line being perfectly pieced ..
.. I furnished its featureless plains,
Until my work was complete.
And for years I’d nurtured a deep yearn for release ..
.. Skirting the reams of this fervid retreat,
With an urge to be seen.
As these walls deserved to be teemed with a certain prestige ..
.. And I was determined to see, just how my work was perceived.
Now gone are the perfectly pieced, works that served as my dreams -

Within the deepest of blackness, speaking is sadness,
Leaving each of us captive with the demons of past.
Beneath us we ask, if we should laugh or free the wrath
That we distract, but keep intact for a needed task.
When evenings collapse, we react with a genius's lapse
Of thought, the impact of the meaningless actions cost,
Sometimes a little more than simple force.
Maybe what was consensual before turned to hurtful intercourse?
You couldn't have meant it; your morals are too strong,
Maybe you were just cordial for too long.
Plus that blue thong... and that last shot,
And what you saw became more important than who's wrong.
With the truth lost in a broken haze,
The two of you joked for days,
About that beautiful hopeful grace.
Within the deepest of blackness, a frozen state,
Speaking is madness,
Leaving each of us captive with the demons of past,
And old mistakes. So disgraced and
Not believing what happened, a knock hard on your door.
Silent you stand, another, not as hard as before.
Making your way you wonder what lies,
On the other side, who could have discovered why?
Tear punished eyes, as thunder cries from behind,
And the sun denies the disgust and shines.
The gun clicks, the blast completely erupted,

I mean to me, the guy verse was more contrast'd, hope thatz a word...lol! Anyway though like i said, it was all about the topic, and I got lov for Baron. He be doing his thing on the originality tip, I mean with his vocab and views, is realy icing on the cake. All in All though, I got to keep it real, even though its text, a more audio verse, will always win in my book.

Baron you good mayne, just that I can't see myself, ryding listening to that, even though its a topical text league. I mean i'm just keeping it real, keep that shyt over on the poetic fourm mayne...lol!

Baron, you started out on track and pushing out great thoughts, as it went on it seemed as though you derailed just a teeny bit, you stayed on topic but you seemed to drop here and there, it might have been your focus on the repetitive rhyme scheme(which was pulled off beautifully) but I doubt that, well written verse I just kinda trailed off a bit as I read


Sac, when I looked at your topic I thought you were gonna take this in a direction so many people do, which you sort of did yet you did it in a more refreshening and really intimate way, I felt you lacked just a bit with the flow in a few lines but you easily made up for it with vivid imagery and great metaphoric ideas, well written

Baron, as this started I thought it would be insightful and since it was about graffiti, I thought at least some imagery would be provided because the narration was from the view of an artist... but there wasn't any imagery really and the concept got really redundant, reasserting the same points mostly. With a short piece, it needs more meat than that. The flow was gravy, but some of your word choices weren't that smooth. I never like refurring the narration in rhymes as forced, but I can't think of any other way to describe it. The scheme was cool and I've seen you pull it off before, but this just didn't have enough details of your subject.

Sac, The metaphorical approach you took with this topic was clever and wrapped cool with the revealing of the actual topic. your flow structure is always a bit different, but this time it was much harder to follow... usually a much smoother structure is placed with yours. It was still pretty nice though so I won't compare it to past verses and just say it just wasn't smooth to read through. I almost thought you lost this match until the topic you approached was made clear and it made me reflect on this in a much better viewpoint. There was some dark imagery in this that was colorful and detailed and made it all fall together at the end

Baron - your piece was nicely done but kinda short
and for a champ match you didnt go all out like I expected you would
It was more a "Ima tell you something" kinda piece instead
of the emotional and heartfelt kinda piece which took away a lot of the piece
but the pics added a nice something to it

Sac - Im just not a fan of these pieces but I must say certain lines in there
were dope. The flow was ok nothing to special but your multis I did notice and
were nice. But to me it still feels like a piece you just read to read
but the mechanics were just nice

SO Sac took it with teh mechanics and stuff and baron just give a nice piece
so I dont know which way to go cus both didnt really impress me this time
So Ill just say its a tie and if that isnt possible cancel my vote then

I'm sorry that you feel that way, but it's pretty damn ironic because I know at least 3 members who felt like they were cheated out of titles in champ matches with you.... 1. me/Fold, 2. Pent/Street Poet, 3. Brains and we all put up way better verses than you did this week so maybe this is something for you to grow on. Having fans is good when you're winning obviously so why complain about it when you're losing. Kinda being a hypocrite there buddy. Anyway though, hope you don't decide to quit over this like you said earlier.

The rules I've set in place won't allow him to cheat like that anyway.... You can't vote unless you've shown to your match so you have to be signed into the league already.

I've never been to rapflava, but I hear it's similiar to PR with a lot of the same members, which is basically why I've never even bothered to look at them at all. Anyway, my rules protect the members against cheating like this so it was a waste of time.
