Allowing Late Verses with a Penalty of -2 votes?

It seems that even with the due date extension to Sunday 12am PST, people are still waiting til the last possible moment to write and post their verses, which seems silly to me, but w/e.....

For this reason I'm proposing an extension for late verses with a penalty of -2 votes in that match. If both people no show, then the -2 vote penalty will be applied in their next matches the following week and if they sign out after that match, the -2 vote penalty will be held over their name to be applied to the next match they actually show for.

For a late verse to count though, your opponent must allow it to be posted late. If your opponent doesn't allow a late verse to be posted, then it's an automatic no show. Also, for the late verse to be counted even if it is allowed, it must be posted within 24 hours after the original due date and time.

The voting due times and date will not be extended however.

I run this place within a democratic process though so this will have to be put to a vote.

I personally don't like to excuse people for waiting until the last second to post when they've had all week to get it done. I don't think there is any excuse for that..... if you can't show on time, you deserve to lose, plain and simple

You're not busy all week to not be able to post something during Tuesday-Sunday and if you are, you wouldn't of signed into the league in the first place.

even tho I didnt post my verse this week I dont agree to the late post extension if you cant post within 30 min of the deadline then you shouldnt be allowed to post at all

in otherwords I think if you cant post within 30 min of the deadline its too late... I mean waking up and remembering about posting at 12 should be allowable but anylater you deserve to lose

HAHA..I'm against it as a general rule..I've never showed up late for a match in 48 league matches and 8 or so tournament matches..However, I'm not completely against Rocket's little 12pm the next day rule if it were to somewhat eliminate no-shows..But anything more than that is inexcusable and it shouldn't be allowed..
