[list][*]Check-in (Posting in your match to show that you are aware the match exists) is encouraged but not required.
[*]Verses must incorporate at least one of the provided topics and must be at least 16 lines and must not exceed 64 lines.
[*]Anyone who does not post at least 4 rap lines, incorporating at least one of the provided topics, is considered a no-show.
[*]RECYCLING IS NOT STRICTLY PROHIBITED. You may not use any verse that you have previously used within the league at any time. Whether it was a no show, tournament verse recycled for the league or visa versa or any verse that have ever been used within the league perimeters.
[*]During check-in, you can ask your opponent to agree to a line limit (Minimum 16) and if your opponent agrees, Moderators will hold both participants to that limit.
[*]Posting between 4-15 lines is considered a “show” but will not result in a match. If you post 4-15 lines, and your opponent posts between 16-64, you will lose the match but you will remain in the league. If you post 4-15 lines, and your opponent does not show, you will “Win by no-show”.[/list]
Voting:[list][*]If you do not show you can still vote and post the links in your match to receive full voting points. In addition, if you do not show, yet vote on at least 4 matches (Or, every match available, should there be less than 4 matches to vote on) you will remain in the league.
[*]Votes must be hidden! To hide a vote, first thing you type in your reply is a bracket “[“, the word “hide” and end bracket “]”. The last thing you type in your reply is a bracket “[“, a backslash “/”, the word “hide” and end bracket “]”. Unhidden votes will not count towards the match or towards your vote requirements.
[*]No second chance votes! Editing votes for any reason must be approved by mods and explained in reason for editing.
[*]No bias votes! If you have a personal investment in wanting someone to lose, whether because that member voted against you once, or you just don’t like that person, whatever the reason, do not vote in the match. If have a personal investment in wanting someone to win, whether because they’re crew member, or because you want to face that person in the next week’s brackets, whatever the reason, do not vote in the match.
[*]”Bias” must be confirmed by a Moderator.
[*]If there is a match which you will not be able to vote on, due to “Bias” of any type, state so within your match prior to Verses Due Deadline. If this reduces the number of matches available for you to vote on to the point where you are unable to vote on at least 4 matches, the point scale will be adjusted according to how many matches you do vote on.
[*]3-ways are inevitable. In order to provide a tie-breaker in a 3-way, you are now required to indicate in what order the contestants finished (1st, 2nd, 3rd).

Defects of your birth made you special.. How are you special?

The Beginning
Joseph wasn’t supposed to happen; merely just an accusation
He was conceived by mother who was lost in lust and infatuation
She was only 17, and as fast as it happened
She was raped at a party and found out about her son in her abdomen
“The Town Slut” was her nickname, 2 guys a week was her portion
So she messed up her life and had her son; she didn’t believe in abortion
After the birth had taken place, he lay on her shoulder feasting on breast milk
And Joseph looked into his mother’s eyes, and she knew he was special
She remembered how much her head was killing her, stomach hurting for days
But when she touched him, it felt like the world was okay
His eyes were a bright blue, a color you saw that never felt so sweet
And she let out a smile, tilted her head back and fell asleep

Later.. Much later in his lifetime
Joseph was growing fast and there was something special about him
It seemed that wherever he went, there was always death around him
His family knew of this matter and stayed away, his mother balled in tears
Even his grandparents were scared; but they hadn’t called in years
Joseph had no friends; no one ever even gave him a glance
He would pray every chance to be like others, and play at last
He would wish for friend or even a foe; some sort of kinship
‘cause anybody that Joseph touched only fell into sickness
He wasn’t allowed to be at school only in fear it’d explode
Joseph would’ve gotten home schooling if the teacher ever showed
He would be lonely in his house, but something he couldn’t have known
His mother was sicker and sicker the more Joseph stayed home
He felt worthless, so every night at bed he just sat on his knees
And prayed to the heavens to get him out of this disastrous scene
Every night he would do this, he got used to this crappy routine
When he found out his mother was diagnosed with an unfathomed disease
She had cancer in her stomach, her facial expressions showed that it hurt
A high school drop out was alone, and was forced to grow up and work
It was the wintertime now, and his heart grew as cold as the dirt
Everybody knew about the sickness, and said Joe was the germ

Sitting Next To His Mother, Dying Slowly In Her Bed
The words “I Love You” popped out first, he’s never said it to her
This goes to show he really hates his life, but never regretted his birth
He moved closer to her but stopped, he’s only trying to hug her
And he froze and remembered the first time he layed eyes on his mother
He flashed back to the hospital bed, as his mother lay there asleep
That happiness was the only thing he wished his mother could keep
But now she probably thinks that God is just giving a lesson
Everything paused and got blurry as he flashes back into the present
He looked into his mother’s eyes, lying there in her death bed
Gave her a hug and a kiss, said goodbye and sent her to heaven
