[list][*]Check-in (Posting in your match to show that you are aware the match exists) is encouraged but not required.
[*]Verses must incorporate at least one of the provided topics and must be at least 16 lines and must not exceed 64 lines.
[*]Anyone who does not post at least 4 rap lines, incorporating at least one of the provided topics, is considered a no-show.
[*]RECYCLING IS NOT STRICTLY PROHIBITED. You may not use any verse that you have previously used within the league at any time. Whether it was a no show, tournament verse recycled for the league or visa versa or any verse that have ever been used within the league perimeters.
[*]During check-in, you can ask your opponent to agree to a line limit (Minimum 16) and if your opponent agrees, Moderators will hold both participants to that limit.
[*]Posting between 4-15 lines is considered a “show” but will not result in a match. If you post 4-15 lines, and your opponent posts between 16-64, you will lose the match but you will remain in the league. If you post 4-15 lines, and your opponent does not show, you will “Win by no-show”.[/list]
Voting:[list][*]If you do not show you can still vote and post the links in your match to receive full voting points. In addition, if you do not show, yet vote on at least 4 matches (Or, every match available, should there be less than 4 matches to vote on) you will remain in the league.
[*]Votes must be hidden! To hide a vote, first thing you type in your reply is a bracket “[“, the word “hide” and end bracket “]”. The last thing you type in your reply is a bracket “[“, a backslash “/”, the word “hide” and end bracket “]”. Unhidden votes will not count towards the match or towards your vote requirements.
[*]No second chance votes! Editing votes for any reason must be approved by mods and explained in reason for editing.
[*]No bias votes! If you have a personal investment in wanting someone to lose, whether because that member voted against you once, or you just don’t like that person, whatever the reason, do not vote in the match. If have a personal investment in wanting someone to win, whether because they’re crew member, or because you want to face that person in the next week’s brackets, whatever the reason, do not vote in the match.
[*]”Bias” must be confirmed by a Moderator.
[*]If there is a match which you will not be able to vote on, due to “Bias” of any type, state so within your match prior to Verses Due Deadline. If this reduces the number of matches available for you to vote on to the point where you are unable to vote on at least 4 matches, the point scale will be adjusted according to how many matches you do vote on.
[*]3-ways are inevitable. In order to provide a tie-breaker in a 3-way, you are now required to indicate in what order the contestants finished (1st, 2nd, 3rd).

"Please stop!" I screamed,
He obviously did not agree with that philosophy,
I started to cry, hoping tears would melt the cold,
Instead they rolled, fell, then froze,
Then hell arose, put a knife to my throat,
Not incision yet, I still felt likely to choke...

..."Shut up bitch, I'm tryin' to love ya,
Cuz I'm lonely as fuck and you fly as motha,"
I laughed as the knife made a crease in her skin,
I got myself a girl that seems like a priss,
So she gonna love this I bet,
A lifetime scar, that's if she lives to regret,
My hand grabbed her tit,
Heard a kid talkin', he'll regret distractin' this...

..."Amy!" I screamed when I came to the scene,
I couldn't believe what I seen, the pain wouldn't leave,
I ran fast, fast as I could till he screamed,
"I'll kill this bitch if you come closer to me,"
So I stopped, put my hands up,
Said well that's about all I got for plan one...

...Why'd he stop? Help her Dante!
She's gonna die if you don't stop him promptly,
So screw it, I'ma grab this brick and chuck,
I know Dante can hold his own in fistacuffs...

...All I heard was a crack and the knife was ghost,
All I saw was the man that left my pride to toast,
Inside, I froze, veins became like icicles,
Dante, my Judas, what a sight to show,
I looked behind me, the man was layin' asleep,
I looked in front, saw a child too bashful to speak,
Grabbin' Dantes leg, smiling,
Saved by a superheros witness slash sidekick...

A Body To Die For

Movements come and go, revolutions rise and fall
and the art form that's the eye which cries for all
will soon be spotted by the masses and shot dead
for preaching the same word that god once spread.
But if poetry can bring the rebirth of this nation
then sacrificing it's body will be worth it's creation.

Tonight, two young poets write to the death
with cut throat words that are as light as their breath.
Whether its from the tip of the tongue or the top of the head
they come up with concepts and only stop when their dead.
It's in their heartbeat to be part beast and part priest
and think of lines that are razor sharp like shark teeth.
Their art speaks volumes though no one lends an ear
and when their pens get near the earth bends in fear
signaling the end is here.
Cause everything shakes down when they breakdown
they drink up, you take rounds & when you sink they make ground.
They view society with raised brows from a distance
and glance at the sky but only look to themselves for assistance.
They were born into this existence with an outsider's perception
they have a mindset of an alien, fused to write out the misconceptions.
Usually they focus on the outright deceptions invented by politicians
and philosophical wizards who've manipulated minds to follow religions
and at the same time turning civilization into a column of divisions
so souls turn out hollow when their being swallowed in the prison.
But there's flaws in the system cause creative minds can't be caged
there's been poets since the beginning and their work can't be staged.
And as these two young writers clash they try to burn the paper
with fiery truths that make lies of the universe die and turn to vapor.
One writes about himself, focusing on his depression and anxiety
while the other raises questions about the oppression in our society.
Their progressing a tradition that's been passed down through miles of lifetimes
and it may be watered down but you can't take away their right to type rhymes.
But poets in the 21st Century may not be worth the attention or fame
and the art form will be exploited with nobody left to mention it's aim.
Some will be credited as the inventors but the invention will change
into something else before any convention can explain,
how a cult that was chained became a nation's domain.
So after tonight, these two poets will be a thing of the past
everybody will be mimicking the craft and ringing the cash.
Only those who didn't think it would last will get a final laugh
and since their not here I will write until then on their behalf.
