RBL Magazine: A Return To Prestige

That's right. It's back. The official Oz RBL magazine. Just to let you know what I'm about, I'm about show casing nothing but skill. No bullshit waste of time, filler up articles. Hell, I'm not even fond of doing match reviews and predictions.

Why?

Well, the matches shouldn't need review, since people should be voting, not to mention, it's all just a bunch of generic descriptions. I will however review interesting matches. There was at least 1 match like this last week. At anyrate, I try to come up with different ideas, and do different things, different weeks, so it's always fresh. Anyone with ideas holla at me at JayGood259Oz, but plz don't waste my time.

RBL: League Overview

I was impressed last week, however not much. I expected far more no shows, while the top 20 only had 4 (which is excellent in my opinion for a starting week), and those 4 were the like of "Rex, Arel Avent, Houdini & Alamo IV. I don't say goodbye, however I do say "Good RIDDENS". The bottom 20 was filled with no shows, but I couldn't care less.

The league is starting to fill up with talent. Outside of countless alias's of which I don't know whom you are (but it's obvious by the number of people signing up with 0 posts), plus the obvious heavy hitters like Username, Scienz, Oneduh & Demik, my league & vision of getting this league back to a prestigious state is well on it's way.

It's yall league though, and it's entirely dependent on you guys. I can lay the foundation, but you guys need to build the league. I aint even saying you gotta be the illest text writer ever (god knows its not easy these days), all you have to do is show up and vote. Either way, RBL is and will continue to be the best league on the internet. Fucka project rhyme, and their overwhelming dickriding and biased members, and their shady administration, I assure you, RM is completely free of that homoness. With that said....Let's go.

More RBL Changes? Yessir.

To maintain a great league, I need participation from my participants as much as you need me to do ranks and post battles. Unfortunately, I aint getting it, so now, I will be forcing it, not with anything outstanding or unaskable, but by adding and enforcing rules to make the league better.

The RBL is alot like a democracy, the voters elect their champions based on opinions of that persons talent. Thus, all democracies require one KEY thing, fucking voters. From here on out, and STARTING THIS WEEK, (as it already states in rules), if you win your match, and DO NOT have you 5 links posting in your thread. You will not get a loss, but the win will not be added to your record. I'm sick of seeing people get ahead in votes, and decide they don't have to vote because of this reason.
Think about it, the only reason your ahead in votes is because people took their time to vote for you, yet people think their too good or their times to valuable to return this favour throughout the league. VOTING MAKES LEAGUES GO ROUND, and voting is the one thing RBL lacks. Well from now on, if you want your wins, your going to have to vote. You losers who feel you aint gotta vote, Ill periodically do whatever I feel to you fags until you decide to cooperate and participate fully in the league you signed up for.

RBL ANNOUNCEMENT

In an RBL announcement, I shall be doing away with the old champ records thread. Yessir, the slate is whiped clean, and my league will have its own progressive thread. The other thread is a complete disgrace, and so are most of the champs, I assure you, the new championship thread will be more detailed, and more prestigious. The first introductee into my new RBL championship thread will be Spit That. Congratulations, you hold the responsibility of getting this league off on the right foot, through the demonstration of dopeness in your championship verses from here on forth.

Lastly, RBL ARCHIVES? Yeah or nay? Lemme know what you think about these, yeah, Allah tried doing something good, and spent alot of time doing it, and hell, I'm even in it, but Id like to do away with this shit. I dont see the point in glorifying alot of has beens (though some dudes is still sickwitit). At the very least Id like to shorten it up, and make it better. I dunno, gimme yo two cents.

...First and foremost to the RBL cypher. The shit went off BETTER than I could have ever imagined. Although people didn't come as nice as I figured, I can understand why. But 1 person did drop some heat, and because of this, he shall have a loss removed from his record, as per his request.

Anyway, Im liking the cypher, I think its a good "sidegame" for the RBL, and as long as you guys maintain the interest and self control you have shown, I can assure you the cypher will go no where, and only will become more interesting, and maybe split iinto 2 cyphers. I didn't see much participation from my top 20 this week, so it's gonna stay at 1 for now, until they step it up, then they will recieve their own thread.

Congratulations To "Eyedill"

I don't really care what you think of the guy, he is the winner of the first ever RBL Cypher, and has had his loss removed from his record. He dropped an ill ass line, and with that considerable waste of a line, he removes a blemish from his record.

Realize this, 2 dope lines, can equal a win, if you come the best in the cypher, so it's not at all a waste.

This is the winning couplet, that got this man the win. Ill admit, the first line is nothing special, actually its pretty boring, but the second line was straight fucking heat. Amazing idea, & will surely make the top ten punches of the week. Dope shit Dill.
Who's gonna step it up this week? Don't get frustrated, I am judging this unbiasedly, I could have easily gave the shit to User, but I truly think Eyedill had the best lines this week. So keep at it folks, and lets not ruin a good thing.


Congratulations To "Spit That"

...On becoming the first champ in my ever prestigious league. Shouts to Headless too, but I have to give Spit That even more props.

MATCH REVIEW: This was probably one of the most interesting RBL matches of the last two years. Headless exploited the weak rules Allah had posted, and posted a verse somewhere in the range of 65 line. Headless DID have some good shit, and was needlessly hated on by blind voters (considering I thought he won). Nevertheless, Spit That could have easily no showed out of disgust, or did a quick 16 lines which would almost certainly win, since nobody would wanna read Headless long verse. To my surprise, Spit That manned the fuck up, and came with his own 60 some lines, and made it the longest RBL battle in history (to my knowledge). Spit That aint exactly come wack either, he had a bunch of nice lines, and his lines playing off Headless were particularly comical on some ol John Hensley type shit. It was truly a great championship match, and Spit That came out as the winner. So hold ya head, and defend that title, cause you won it in great fashion.

The DUDS

You know that guy who runs around claiming everyone wack, hate votes battles, and disses lines, then signs up in the league and gets shit on by a newbie? Well my friend, this fellow is a fucking DUD. This week our DUD is none other than IMPERIAL.

Now I aint saying Imperial is horrible (granted I don't care much for him), but this is a guy who hate votes me against Serge, a match where I lost like 11-13 (against an established and hard to beat writer), then signs up in my league, thinks he's good enough to walk on fucking water, and gets nearly flawlessed by a god damn nobody. This guy got thrown in the intersite battle for christ sakes, and just got knocked the fuck out by some cat named "Daedal", whom I have never heard of, and fully expected to be shit on.

Props to Daedal on a high profile win so early in your RBL tenure.

I found the entire situation laughable. At first Imp was mad at a couple voters who voted against them, complaining of their newbish ways, but when it became apparent he was not going to recieve any votes, he broke out the infamous "Oh wow, I guess I should have tried" speech. Don't gimme that shit. User didn't try this week, and had no problems getting his first win.

Your a joke kid. Now that you got your loss, Im sure youll no show this week, and disappear from the net for a while, which is a plus for me. I don't need no cocky mufuckas in the league who can't take down a standard newbie, with or without trying. GOOD FUCKING RIDDENS (Certainly aint writtens).

Some of you might be questioning why I chose these fools as Duds for the week, or maybe even why they are in a 3 way match (a match type I hardly ever consider using). Well these 3 asscakes have something very similar in common. They are all lazy fucking bums.

All 3 dropped pitiful no show verses with absolutely no thought, and all 3 got shit on by actual verses from people who decided to show at last minute. Let this be a lesson to all lazy mufuckas in the league.

If you sign up for the league, im under the impression you wanna write verses? So why not put up a little effort, and write a god damn verse, reguardless of whether they show or not. I see no point in these no show verses, like yall lines are that good that they cant be spared anyway.

Oh well, however, 1 of you will have some chance to redeem yourself. Whomever wins this 3 way match, shall get the customary 2 wins for a threeway, and I will also remove the loss from your record. Now you all have some motivation to show up with a real verse.

Power Rankings

6.Username
Most would say he is the best in the league. I am included in that most. He is however ranked the lowest of all my power ranked individuals. He will move up at rapid pace, however. User is a net legend, and 1 of the few who still drops heat today. Hell, he even dropping heat on cats he aint gotta try to beat. He is even showing more interest than usual, he will be champ...eventually.

5.Eyedill

I dont care if you hate him, or think he's a fucking biter, or what your opinion is of him really. He has the best record in the league, is making top punches in my mags, and just won the first RBL cypher ever. Even his detractors must consider his improvement and acknowledge he is a threat in the league.

4. Banned Name
Otherwise known as Demik. Demik surprised me with some really fresh shit as of late, and the fact that he is in the championship match this week, obviously puts him right on my list. Never one to lose many matches, Demik is a force to be reckoned with.

3. Scientz
Dude has been one of the dopest for a long time. My favorite writer from BBoys, and one of my favorites on RM. Some of the most creative and thoughtfull wordplay around, as long as he sticks around, he will continue to acrue countless wins. Simply dope.

2. Oneduh
Another older head, STILL dropping heat. Oneduh been busy with that site battle, but now can refocus on his RBL matches and what not. Oneduh is in my opinion famous for taking simple shit, and making it dope. I read his shit like "How could I have not thought of that". Great writer, and he is in the contendership match this week with Eyedill, looking to again, recapture a RBL title.

1. Spit That
Fuck all that hating ass bullshit. The champ IS number 1 in power rankings, how can he not be? Sure he could lose this week, he has a tough opponent, but last week he dropped a 60 line verse and beat headless (tho headless doomed himself with Pipe and Whats tastey lines). Spit that has earned my respect, this mags respect, and hopefully if he continues to perform at a high level, he will be given the respect he is deserved by everybody on this site.

My mags are written with the idea everyone can read every article without being bored. Allahs shit, ( no offense ) had so much shit to skip over. Match reviews for everyone but yourself, same more less for predictions. 3 or 4 No show shines. Classic RBL match, Best verse of the week. All that shit is pointless, aint nobody reading it.

Besides, them reviews and previews are all vaguely the same thing. "So and so" will beat So and So, easy. Blah blah blah. There aint much you can really say in review of a battle, so it must have been hard for him to keep coming up with generic descriptions.
